This isn't ideal, but couldn't they at the very least put a bit of padding or bubble wrap in each end, and then cover the ends with some tape?? Like, who ships a poster tube with open ends . I'm kind of hoping that member got a clueless CSR and this was just some mistake.

It's because they're just straight stupid. There's no other explanation unless they're doing all they can to kill the business, which would also be stupid. I'm not exaggerating. These people running the conpany are straight up dumber than dog shit now. Begging to go extinct. Unless something drastically changes, I'd say enjoy them while they last.

PCAP 401, an advanced business course, covers in detail the methodology, through rigorous scholastic activity, how the practice of removing protective plastic caps from poster tubes will allow any scratched discs to heal themselves due to proximity to the uncapped tube.

Once uncapped poster tubes are available with all orders, the issue will be fully resolved.

Another theory I have is that they produce their tubes in house, to avoid having to buy premade ones with expensive plastic ends. Thus why they have no plastic ends. Makes sense right?

I actually buy a lot of their product, and usually don't complain, but the the tubes should have end caps.

How much would it cost to make one plastic cap, 2 cents? Maybe even less. What are they saving vs. how many customers will be unhappy? What if someone opens their box in the bathroom and the poster falls into the solied toilet?

This is semi-related, but I do wish they gave the option to actually opt out of having a poster. I know some on here actually wait until the poster inventory sells out before ordering because they don't want/need the poster, or want to deal with getting a larger box or poster shipped separately. I think this also makes it so the posters are only going to those that want it too.

This is one of my greatest fears. Due to the fact I usually masturbate on the toilet as I open the latest SF releases.

They don't care. Every decision points to them not giving a shit about physical media and shifting their energy into production. I feel like it's clear as day but folks will insist on being in denial for a while longer.

Hi
Not sure if this is the right thread.
Regular customer for https://shoutfactory.com/en-ca
This time, received blu-ray case damaged for one of the items and have contacted them with pics. Any one knows if they will replace the damaged case?

They'll probably say you should have stored it horizontally.

Shout is just too top heavy. If they were based in a right to work state, it'd be easier for them to purge employees. And, there's nowhere easy for them to pivot due to being focused on the entertainment industry. The owners better get pretty creative about where to pivot, or they'll be stuck cannibalizing their catalog to sign paychecks.

In all seriousness, the poster thing is stupid. I never really came down on them though for the scratched discs. Yeah it sucked, but it wasn't like they're doing it themselves. Always thought people where too harsh on them for that, seeing as how they have zero control over why that happened. Not like they where the only ones either. How they handled it at times was questionable, but ultimately I don't blame them near as bad for the scratched discs as many others have. Should of teamed up and went after the place making them instead. Give them hell.

Add me to the list of people who wish this was an option. I'd much rather have these go to people who really want them.

Yup. I have a pile of posters still in their tubes sitting around collecting dust in a storage room at work. They could've gone to someone who truly appreciates them.

If the disc and cover art are not damaged, it'd probably be less of a headache to just buy some replacement cases yourself. That way you can have a few others on hand for anything else that arrives damaged.

This poster fiasco is making me more excited that Shout will leave the physical media business and sell off all their licenses to some company that gives a sh#t about its customers. They were already last in the customer service line for the boutique labels. Now looks like they just left the building and gave up caring at all. Hopefully, like someone predicted, they will be gone in 5 years or less.

Wow no end caps on the tubes is just being cheap somehow at this point. I usually only pre order soon as I can when it’s a poster I really want, I don’t have the room currently to hang them all so the majority are still in their shipping tubes. To not have those capped would really suck.

Rant aside, I've received posters from Nintendo of America and other online stores that have used the tape/brown paper on the ends method as well as using different styles of tubing that come with the ends flexible so that they bend inward. In both cases the posters arrived fine and it was evident that they were protected and weren't going to randomly fall out.

If shout is that hard pressed to save funds, maybe we can all chip in and send them our empty wrapping paper tubes and toilet paper rolls later this year to ensure that they have a supply to pack posters in in 2025.
