Then don’t buy them?

Ya'll are missing the point. These cases are going to make a great filler item to help get you over the free shipping threshold when your regular orders come up a bit short.

Sure if you buy directly from Shout, I was just bringing attention to those looking to buy cases only.

Buying 100 of a single case type is really inconvenience, even most collectors aren't going to need so many cases.

I'm not sure what you mean here. I didn't say anything about 100 cases.

Yes, you can purchase them much cheaper when you buy in bulk. However, most retailers who sell blank cases charge more for a single case than when you purchase multiples.

We don't think requesting a video of a reported playback error is asking too much. To heedlessly send out replacements for every request we receive, sight unseen, does not make for good business. If a customer's disc doesn't work, and they show us it doesn't work, they get a new disc.
Why should we have to do that. You product shouldn't have scratches in the first place. Maybe investigate why this is happening and fix the problem. When people buy something that is new, it should look new.

@ShoutFactoryOfficial

Is there any chance Shout can include the 2 official David Bowie music videos for Labyrinth (As the World Falls Down & Underground) in Shout's release for Labyrinth? Or include the work print version of The Dark Crystal, or just the deleted/alternate scenes from the work print in Shout's release of The Dark Crystal?

In this situation we do know what the issue is: The Mexico Disc Plant

Lotsa US labels have been using them and scratched discs have been invading peoples homes for years.

I’m not sure if they can just switch disc plants immediately without issue or if there’s something else to it like contractual stuff.
If they can switch without issue tho, I hope they do it real soon.

It’s pretty frustrating/Anxiety inducing whenever I open a new case and flip the disc over and see some scratches. :/

You take advantage of a business at your own risk.
And yet, according to what appeared to be an earnest (though wholly anecdotal, I'll give you) post by a thoroughly confused Reddit user, said individual was banned by Shout! as a result of a single request to replace a scratched disc. Given similar occurrences of which I'm aware regarding Shout! and their overt customer-hostility, I'm absolutely inclined to believe the Reddit post.

I'm not certain what you mean by "taking advantage of a business." Using these forums, and Reddit, and TrustPilot, as pools of information, it's overwhelmingly clear that Shout!'s customer service is under constant barrage by customers wanting replacements for damaged packaging and/or scratched discs. This isn't coincidental, but rather a natural response to Shout!'s inability to ship their product in appropriately sized boxes (they argue tirelessly on TrustPilot that thin bubble mailers provide adequate protection), or to even acknowledge that they habitually ship out scratched discs (let alone take steps to actually rectify the core issue). Rather than making any effort to improve such fundamental aspects of their operation, they instead innovate by removing the plastic caps from poster tubes (resulting, inevitably, in complaints about damaged posters), and by charging for adequate customer service via Route.

Ultimately, it seems that Shout! would rather outsource customer service to Route (given that they advise anyone on TrustPilot dissatisfied with their in-house customer service to instead pay for Route in future transactions), and have seemingly come to resent their customers for 1) being reasonably dissatisfied with several facets of Shout!'s quality control, and 2) holding Shout! to the same standard as other boutique labels with proprietary storefronts.

What does one do if one is dissatisfied with a business?

A) Keep patronizing them
B) Stop patronizing them

Your call.

I just watched Riddick last night! Good looking out. The film was almost entirely shot in front of greenscreen so I'm not sure if that'll translate well to 4K but I'll grab a copy anyway.

Is it today the December releases are supposed to be going up? Curious how many will get exclusives slips on the store, a number of them seem big enough to do so.

Bummed WKYK is DVD.
At 19 discs, even if they did SD on BR they'd probably be able to fit it all on 2 or 3.
