A Chinese Odyssey Parts 1 and 2 Blu-ray tentatively coming in February too

Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer) stars in this comedic and action-packed two-part adaptation of Journey to the West, a classic 16th century Chinese novel. Directed by Jeffrey Lau (Out of the Dark), this two-disc set includes both feature films together in the North America for the first time: A Chinese Odyssey Part 1: Pandora's Box A Monkey King is reincarnated in the unhuman form as Joker, a highwayman oblivious to his original identity and the fact that 500 years earlier, he and his master, the Longevity Monk, were punished and made to stay human. A Chinese Odyssey Part 2: Cinderella The convoluted continuation of the adventures of the time-traveling, now-human Monkey King, who attempts to fulfill his divine destiny.

I do see inconsistencies with leaks as far as what is a CE and what isn't. Like Gretel and Hansel leaked as being a CE, but really wasn't one. I think there are also instances of the slip mentionining CE, but the insert not? I'll need to double-check that, but if so, that could be what's happening here.

Given that a lot of the Universal upgrades have not been CE releases — Freaky, Ouija, the Happy Death Day films — I imagine this one will not be as well, even though all of those had Blu-ray releases and this one is jumping from DVD to 4K.

On a separate note, decided (finally) to get a copy of Shout's most recent Blu-ray release of Fear City in their current website sale.

Shout's Fear City re-release looks incredible. Definitely grab it for $17.99! No extras sadly, but the movie is good enough on its own that it's a must-own IMO.

Should be noted that it's an older master that's apparently botched (stretched). I do think SF should have made their release a wide release, and added some extras like a commentary track, etc..

Ghosts of Mars is aces in my book so I'm stoked it's getting an upgrade. Feels a bit like Prince of Darkness on Mars in a way so that's a plus. Not a fan of Ice Cube but I like his character in this.

Since this is Columbia/Sony I have renewed interest in other Sony titles making their way to HD upgrades via Shout if the studio itself doesn't care. We need Desperate Measures, The Forsaken (really good Near Dark wannabe) and The Devil At 4 O'Clock. That last one isn't really Shout material but I still included it. Hope Night of the Creeps 4K is around the corner.

I got my order today, and they did actually include the #Horror blu-ray for free! Sweet. (I had posted it was free and MifuneFan replied.)

With this freebie, the 15% off code, the clearance prices on Trouble in Mind and Space Precinct it makes for some nice savings.

I also have to give Shout a gold star; the order shipped within 24 hours, the Robocop 2 poster slip set had it's own box, and this was in a larger box with the other discs wrapped. Everything arrived in nice shape. (I haven't checked for scratches yet however.)

No scratches at all, even though Trouble had the biggest "Made in Mexico" I've ever seen printed on the back!

hah, that's awesome! I'm very glad to have been wrong there. I don't even know how you added it to your cart, as when iI looked at the page there wasn't an option to do that, unless it got removed soon after you posted.
