I laughed when I read it because it is the actual definition of scalping. Like, if the person were to watch the movie and sell it afterward, that's one thing. But intentionally buying an extra disc to sell is scalping.
Either way, I'm not gonna hold anything against the poster. People are going to do what they want, and I can't stop them. Sometimes for fun I will go to ebay and see how much some of my more rare discs sell for. I've never sold anything and likely never will, but it's cool knowing that something like my lenticular Jack Frost disc goes for $60+. |

I want more people to buy and collect physical media, not less.
I want new collectors easy find the movies they want, not pay outrageous prices for a LE released 1-2 years ago. I have not problem with LE when there is a standard edition. If one really want to collect rare releases, start collect vhs, laserdisc or even betamax. |

![]() I'm not a mugger by any means but I've been guilty in the past of threatening people in dark alley with a weapon and demanding that they give me all of their money. I know some of you would find that abhorrent, but at least I'm not taking their entire life savings, just what they have on them. I see it as a type of investment. But again, it's just whatever they have on them at the time. |

Besides, in the 40 years I've been collecting physical media, the number of times I've bought an extra copy to sell later was a total of three times! Once was when Best Buy sold the When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth/Moon Zero Two DVD with the wrong rating and it got recalled, once I bought an extra Blu-ray copy of Monster Wangmagwi and once I bought both slipcover versions of Fade To Black from Vinegar Syndrome. I wasn't sure which slipcover I wanted so I bought both with the intention of reselling the one that I decided I didn't want anymore. I simply can't afford to be buying two copies of all the limited editions I want. I don't have much money, so sue me for wanting to make an extra buck. Some people buy gold as an investment. Why not an extra copy of a Blu-ray? We all love and are passionate about this hobby. I know I am. But we have to remember, it's only a movie. It's not like it's baby formula or gasoline. And Warwick, your take on my post is totally not in the same spirit as what I said. You're comparing selling an extra copy of something to make a small profit to mugging somebody and taking something by force? Really?! Am I that evil in your eyes? LOL! Do you mean you've never sold any movie you purchased, ever? How long you been in this game? How big is your collection? If you've never sold ANYTHING ever I imagine your place is pretty crowded with baby toys, children's clothes, and all manner of knickknack. You wouldn't sell a movie even if you hated it?

I actually am considering selling off a small portion of my collection so I can open up some more shelf space. I used to buy a lot of movies just for the sake of collecting, so I have a bunch that I definitely don't care to own (Ice Age, Ice Age 2 etc..), and wouldn't mind seeing them gone. |

The reason Timecop likely doesn't include any extras is because there never have been extras produced for the film. There might be an old EPK sitting somewhere, which we've never seen released on home video... Ever.
And unfortunately, Van Damme has rarely done any new interviews for his older film. fitprod |

I'm just glad I got a chance to upgrade "Caged Heat! / Jackson County Jail" since I missed it the first time.

It's fine that TimeCop has no extras if what's been said about no extras existing is true, but certainly the price should be lower to reflect this?

. The question is, did they even attempt to reach out to the writer, a producer, anyone at all involved with the film? We've seen interviews with goddamn costume designers or continuity people, Severin's Opera release has practically gaffer/best boy interviews, like, they got whomever they could and then some, I don't believe they couldn't have gotten SOMEONE who was involved with the film. And regardless, there's SO MANY scientists/time travel/physics theorists, van Damme/90s action superfans that would've recorded a commentary for this FOR FREE, so "they couldn't get Van Damme" or "it's never had any extras" is NO EXCUSE to just put out the movie and still charge FULL PRICE for a LESS THAN release. Anyone who pays full price for this is a fool. There's already rumblings another company like Arrow may put this out within the next year or so and there's NO WAY a company like Arrow would put out a bare bones 4k. This is essentially one of their featureless "site exclusives" they threw a slipcover on. When I upgraded Sudden Death to Kino's 4k, look what Kino gave us: NEW Audio Commentary by Action Film Historians Mike Leeder and UK Cult Movie Director Ross Boyask If Shout had just done something like that, it'd be better than nothing. |
