I'm still waiting for definitive releases of Corman's older stuff, especially The Little Shop Of Horrors and A Bucket Of Blood. Every release seems to be a case of "two steps forward, one step back". First there were probably some fairly good tapes and DVDs, but I missed them. Then LSOH had a Blu-ray, it was good, now it's OOP. Then LSOH and ABOB get Blu-rays, and there's no open matte option (how most people originally saw them). I'd love if some boutique put out a definitive release of the films on either format, but sadly I'm not expecting it any time soon.

That sucks about Red Sonja, especially considering the UK release is garbage. Hopefully someone picks it up and does it justice, but will probably never happen unless a new master is struck. I assume SF wanted nothing to do with the SC master they would get? That's too bad.

There is an Optimum Blu-ray from 2010, and it's solid. Old, but solid.

The Umbrella 4K is what you want for that movie. It’s expensive but that’s probably the best edition that movie will ever get.

Speaking of your streaming service, if you could send two slight issues to your IT guys on the app for iOS (don't know if it's isolated to just iOS), it would be very nice of you:

1) In the "continue watching" menu, there are no options to delete things you don't wish to continue watching. Currently, the only way to remove a show/movie you began, is to watch it until the ending credits roll. If there were a simple way to remove shows you don't want to continue to watch from the "continue watching" menu, that would be most excellent.

2) When watching a series, i.e. TV series, and you start from the "continue watching" menu, it doesn't provide you with any of the next episodes from the dropdown selections. Meaning when you've finished an episode, you then have to do a new search to find the program again, remember what season, and what episode you last watched. This doesn't happen if you start the show from the original search. The drop down selections continue with the show series below the episode that's streaming. It's only when you start from the "continue watching" field that the next episode(s) do not automatically feed below.

I hope I did a decent enough job of explaining.

Do you think the 4Ks get individual releases. Coffy, Black Caesar and Sheba, Baby are the only ones I need to own. I’ll buy the boxset if necessary but would prefer just the three titles.

I think the last WB-licenced title was Who's That Girl, but we're coming up on a year now (in terms of announcements) since that was released (July 2024).

I hope not. I get why studios love anniversaries but I think it’s silly to tie releases into them. It’s like people who only watch horror movies in October. I think something else is at play here. They’ve sat on this restoration for far too long

Now I really wonder if Arrow got the 4K rights to In the Mouth of Madness. This seemed like an easy decision for 4K, and if it's not coming this year either, then I have to imagine something is up.

Nothing mind-blowing, but a solid lineup of titles. What's promising for me is Lord of Illusions was released on Blu-ray by Sandpiper Pictures last year, so I thought all hope of a 4K release was done for. It looks like SF was able to pick up 4K rights to it, which means some other Sandpiper releases like Invaders From Mars, River's Edge, Blacula, and others are still possible.

Yeah, was going to mention them, but I'm unsure of the possibility of the first getting a 4K release, so I'm not sure if SF wold pursue the sequels only.
