It's not that I'm surprised or disappointed. It's these two other things that's frustrating for me.
Their strength of catalog. They have many things I would love to add to my library.
Their obscene prices. They will never get my money until that changes.
So I look for an item to drop to a place where I'll feel comfortable paying for that item.
Unfortunately, that just never seems to happen anymore.
I don't care what they release. They won't ever get my money until they change.

I add 1 title to my collection every day, on average over the course of the year.
If Shout Scream Factory doesn't want my business, I have no problems finding other labels to make my purchases from.

I feel they are mostly reasonable compared to several other boutiques that offer less. Those companies start with A and Sy

Out of curiosity, what do you consider to be an obscene price? You have over 5000 discs and I'd be surprised if they were all inexpensive purchases. For me it depends on the title and availability. I've recently purchased The Beyond UHD and Captain Kronos LE UHD which were both over $75. I prefer less expensive options but this hobby isn't cheap. I've also purchased the latest 2 Shaw Brothers Classics sets at just over $113 but of course those include multiple titles.

I get where you’re coming from. I will say the best time to buy a Shout! Release is when it’s brand new or still on preorder and target or deep discount has one of there sales. That’s how I’ve gotten about 75% of my SF titles since they started telling Amazon they can’t discount there titles like they used too.

The Beastmaster 4K
Fade to Black 4K

I imagine with 13-14 titles we're likely getting a box set. I think we can eliminate a new Shaw Classics set since that alone could be around 12 movies. It's possible we could see the Jet Li 4K collection come out.
I would be in for Blaxploitation, Hard Boiled, and City on Fire day one.

I'm also hoping everyone gets at least some announcement that excites them and thank you for all the great releases, not much of a horror fan but I grew up loving The F13th Franchise and love my boxset, beautiful restorations .
In regards to Toku my mindset is that of Galaxy Quest. Never Give Up. Never Surrender. Keep asking that’s the reason Super Sentai started again.

Scream for all that is good please release Demon Knight 4K this year for the 30th anniversary. Make it one of the 18 announced in the 28th.

I would get the Jet Li set if I didn’t get all of them on 4K from 88 Films last year.

It feels like eons since Shout last released a Sentai DVD, makes me want to catch up on King-Ohger and finish Gotchard, speaking of Toku. I just believe Toei is stingy and has been fighting the international markets for many many years where many have just given up on the series being physically released.

However, since KamenRider_EN has been launched on Twitter recently, maybe just MAYBE Heisei and Reiwa Riders have a chance of being physically released, never liked Showa, tbh as it hasn't aged well enough for me.

I love your enthusiasm though.

Beastmaster and Fade To Black are likely 2 of the upcoming announcements. There's no reason to buy Beastmaster if you own the VS (it would be like backtracking) but I'm undecided on FtB. It's one of those BDs where the quality really shines, plus it has a great slip (highly unlikely to be topped by Shout lol). I just need the 4K disc if I ever were to get it.

If Shout really wants to get my juices flowing, they'd upgrade Evil That Men Do with a collector's edition on 4K, some of the earlier Cormans, a few of which are still stuck on DVD (unforgivable) and a few surprise premieres, preferably horror from the "Golden Era" (1975-90ish). As they stand, I haven't been excited by Shout's lineup in months. None of the genres they're currently focusing on are up my alley. Zilch.

They're competitive and undercut some other boutiques still. Criterion on sale for a 4k single film set is never less than $25, Shout releases are. And Criterion and Arrow blus even on sale in the US even ones from 3-6+ years ago are still $20, Shout beats that price point as well. Arrow US site sales suck, the only deals to be had are from the UK site. 4k LEs and box sets from Arrow, forget about it, don't know what deals your looking for but Shout discounts their stuff well at least 4-5 times a year.

Here's what the Scream Factory Official had to say about a Demon Knight 4K release not too long ago (02/07/2025):

You hit one - won't say which.

And the 13/14 titles don't include individual titles from any potential sets we may or may not be announcing; that would make the number jump a bit.

Really hoping the Mack, and Leadbelly are in the next Blaxploitation set also Friday Foster, Foxy Brown, Slaughter, Hit!, and Hammer too

The Mack is no longer with WB, and in turn WAC so that means this title could be with you guys, or Criterion.

Very excited that you guys are giving us these awesome Blaxploitation sets for us big blaxploitation fans like me as we haven't gotten big sets like these ever. All we've gotten is mostly Blu-Rays, and of course a lot of love from WAC, but no big box sets even once. Plus Shaft in 4K which is great and all, but I'm glad Shout! Factory is throwing us Blaxploitation fans a bone it's about time too.

That first Volume set was one of my favorite announcements of the year, and there's a number of new to Blu-Ray titles I'm excited for this year already, but this set is awesome.

So there is going to be 13 separate releases and not 13 films? Hmmm. Guessing one will be the Jet Li set, but I'll be happy if it's the first two Golden Princess films.
