HK will likely take a good chunk of the announcements - there's no going around that. People are still losing their minds over that stuff and the labels are all catering to that demand. Great for fans of HK but if you're not, it feels like the world is falling apart around you lol.

The lack of slashers overall is troubling. Has there been a dropoff in interest? Maybe there never really was interest except by a small group of hardcore fans like myself who bought all of them, good or bad. If that's the case, at least we got a good bunch of them on disc.

There's still a lot of Corman stuff stuck on DVD. DVD is an ancient format now that does NOT hold up well on today's TVs. Those old movies have a lot of fans, most of whom have joined the modern world and moved up. Nobody wants to suffer 480p quality on 1080p or higher sets. What gives?

I literally buy every single slasher. Can't get enough of them. Sorely missing the days of stuff like The Mutilator and Lovers Lane getting nice releases from Arrow. The pool isn't dry either. Plenty 80s/90s/early 00s slashers still unreleased.

HK fans were starved for so long, I think it's a good thing that these films are finally receiving boutique releases, no? I feel like slashers are already very well-represented on home video. If there's been a slasher drought as of late, it's because the best stuff's already been released, hence why we're seeing an increase in 4K double-dipping. X title sold sell on BD, so it's being re-released on UHD.

But you're likely right, there's gonna be some gems in there. Don't have to be a Mindhunter 4K to realize that. The Devils in the details!

I believe the Shout Official said in the past that the numbers represent individual releases rather than the number of films, so a box set would count as one.

Ya, it's a pile of shit, but it's a fun movie, very poor filmmaking, but a gem of a bad movie, with a few cool looking zombies.

I have a soft spot for Boll. He always tried to do something different with little money. house of the Dead was watchable, Postal is a comedic classic imho, and I even enjoy parts of Alone in the Dark. In the Name of the King is a fun grade-z LOTR knockoff. Assault on Wall Street was also very good. Everyone thinks he is the worst director ever and only makes turds. I would rather watch Postal than 90% of comedies made in the last 5 years.

No, I won't go into details, but as I mentioned this comes from a studio that partners with SF, and likely put some pressure on this site. As the site relies on having good relations with studios, etc..I won't do anything to hurt that, and plan to comply with their request.
