Shout should do a lottery where once a month, a forum member gets to pick a title (that they can get the rights to) to get a deluxe, extra filled 4K release in the future.

Different scenario. You're barely a fan. I'm talking about people who are die hard Halloween fans and strongly support physical media. Also, I don't understand your remark about Halloween "not holding a candle" to The Thing or The Fog. Are you referring to John Carpenter's filmography as a whole? Halloween is a bona fide classic that jump started a whole genre. Plus, it's a slasher movie. The Thing is a monster movie and The Fog has supernatural elements, same as Halloween. All three are different types of films. None of the three hold any candles to each other but each are uniquely superb in their own way

You're right I don't really care for the Halloween franchise much at all. I'm more of a Scream fan anyways the Scream franchise is more preferable to me than the Halloween franchise. I'm a big John Carpenter fan, but not a fan of the Halloween franchise if that makes any sense.

At the same time, they are doing everything possible to prevent the leaks from happening in the first place. All of my leaks have come from public sources. I didn't gather them from insider sources, or hacking or anything like that. Just good old fashioned detective work a lot of the times., and sometimes jut posting something that was on a retailer site like Amazon.

So, going forward, I personally won't be able to post any title ahead of Shout themselves announcing them. And just to ward off any potential anger at the label, I can't say whether any of this comes from Shout Factory themselves. All I know is that it came from people at a major studio.

I know many will be upset about this turn of events. I firmly believe my leaks, and the well-detailed threads I made for them were beneficial for Shout Factory, and created more buzz and hype around their announcements than otherwise would be the case. At the same time, I fully understand why companies would frown upon someone leaking stuff before they're ready to do so.

For many years, I actually felt a degree of pressure to "deliver" on leaks, and also felt bad when I couldn't find them, even though it was largely beyond my control. I even tried doing a soft retirement in this thread a couple years back, if some of you may recall. So, in some regards, I feel a bit of relief from having to go through those feelings monthly, and can look forward to the announcements as a regular onlooker,.

Thanks for your understanding,

Michael

That'd be an interesting one-time experiment, but every month?

I mean, if they are going to begin putting out months like 25 titles at a time, I think they could handle it.

It's all good, my friend. Variety is the spice and all that.

Of course, I can't speak for Michael himself, as he might hold a very different opinion..

Or he could just tell us his process for trying to uncover leaks and then everyone could look around when they had time.

Watch it be Lionsgate that put a stop to it, because in a surprise announcement for October Shout are doing not only the recent 3 Halloween movies with CE upgrades, but all of the remaining 5 actually as they struck a shaky deal with Lionsgate who could exit the deal if things don’t go exactly as they say.

A person can dream, really excited to see the next couple of months though since this is the part of the year that normally has the biggest name horror releases from Shout/Scream.

I wouldn’t be mad at this but the 2 Rob Zombie movies if I were to guess are coming from Lionsgate Limited.

The only positive from the leaks ending is the Twitter and Youtube "insiders" will die on the vine now as they can't steal from this site no more

For September, if I'm remembering correctly it's 25 new releases? That's a lot. Guess we'll find out on MOnday/Tuesday?
