Prince of Darkness is a Universal title, so that's probably not going to be it (if they are indeed announcing something from their "new deal"). I'll echo another poster--I'm guessing it's either The Fog or The Town that Dreaded Sundown. Other dark horse candidates: Scanners, Lifeforce, The Abominable Dr. Phibes

I'd definitely be down for The Fog. I still need to upgrade my dvd, but haven't bothered to grab the import version yet.

Lol,are you kidding??That's just...silly.No one here bought it up,because no one is so naïve to think that MGM would license it to other company/label.Seriously,what's next?Alien franchise?

Its all speculation until Friday and every Friday. I feel like some of the studios junk is going to be Scream Factory's gold
And no I dont expect the Terminator, the Alien Franchise or anything blockbustery but if they did get some MGM titles Id could see the Fog and a REAL release, a worthy of owning Blu Ray release of Carrie. Released before but not containing anything from the DVD release is highly disrespectful of such a great film.
From Universal id love to see The Car in HD along with Ssssss

It was pretty cheap when I got it and It looks good, could look a little better I suppose, but any improvements to the PQ/AQ would be marginal IMO, similar to the improvements H2 SFCE has over H2 30A. It would have to be a lot of cool supplemental material in addition to the improved PQ/AQ to get me to double dip. I'd prefer Christine, In the Mouth of Madness, or Prince of Darkness before another version of the The Fog.
I dont mean any disrespect but I'm not really interested in any European imported bootleg version of The Fog. I want the real deal. The Fog deserves a United States release. Not only a U.S release but a special edition with all the bells and whistles.

Actually, the UK edition of The Fog has a pretty solid transfer. Further more, it's not a bootleg just because it comes from another country. Other countries get the rights to distribute under their respective labels sometimes. Like Optimum and Second Sight and so on. Educate yourself on such matters before you post.

As far as a special edition goes, it would be nice to get a fully loaded The Fog from Scream.

Bootleg?
It isn't bootleg. It's a legitimate blu-ray from a reputable studio/distributor. If it were bootleg it wouldn't be officially listed here on blu-ray.com. Just because it's from the UK doesn't mean it's bootleg. You do realize there are actually better versions of some movies only available in other regions right?

I won't dispute that.
But if you simply want the movie now, there's nothing wrong importing it from the UK now.

It's all good. I'm pretty confident that The Fog will get a US release. I thought this year would be the year, but when no announcement came by the start of Summer I just said screw it and ordered the UK edition. I had to have this film for this Halloween's viewing. I feel it's in the top 5 scariest/creepiest films of all time.

Alright. Hey, maybe this opens up a new door for you to discover some other movies you may not have thought existed on blu-ray. It wasn't until recently that I began to import titles, The Fog was actually among my first.
I've been spending about half my time now researching other regions' titles and it can be a real eye opener. You just have to make sure not to overlook the region codes.
A few other titles on my soon to import list include:
1. Halloween H20 - France. Keeps 2:35 AR and true 5.1 sound.
2. From Dusk till Dawn Steelbook - Canada
3. Lost Highway - Germany

You know love them to release Wolfen such and underatted and forgotten movie and Michael Wadleigh shot hours off film and was still shooting when Orion kicked him off the film to get it finished.

Would be great to have a commentary with him and a look at some of the used film. The stedicam work is still some of the best out there and no one everyshot New York like that before.

We really have to make a master list of FAQ's in the OP.

Cliff has said they will likely never get any titles from Warner or Sony.
