I know Howling II was a piece of dookie, I saw it earlier this year...so very awful...The Beast Within I think Ive seen it but I don't think I liked it enough to keep...I definitely will revisit that one to find out once and for all if its something I want on my shelf or not.

Christopher Lee actually apologized to Joe Dante for Howling 2. And rightfully so.

Not so special... I have it.

It looks great, but the cast really enjoys talking about the film, especially Michael Stevenson, who made a documentary on the film's following, so I don't see how they just avoided anyone associated with the movie itself.

[Show spoiler]
and I would like to add, as a side note, that it has a huge following. There are people I know who could not tell you who's Michael or who's Jason in a lineup but can recite the plot of that film. It is actually quite popular.

Either way, just because a movie has or has not been on blu-ray doesn't mean it's a no. Doesn't mean its a yes, but it's still not a no. I for one would love to see the Troll Trilogy hit blu.

Here is my most wanted list in order from most to least. All of these titles are ones that are realistic picks (ie. Not owned by Warner, Lions Gate, Echo Bridge, ect.). I know some of these have been turned down, either due to low DVD sales, of the fact that they are TV movies or public Domain, but they are still are not completely out of the question if the demand is there, so everyone start demanding!

Finally, some sense in this thread! Nice to see another fan of Howling II.

A) please spoilerize that. Im digging like a gopher on my iphone. lol

B) while TV movies might not be if the demand is high, Public Domain is definitely out of the question. Not a chance in hell are they going to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a film's blu-ray release when any old distributor can swing by and pick up all their hard work the same day it streets.
BD is very expensive. It can cost up to TEN TIMES the amount of releasing a DVD.

A) Sorry, done!

B) Wouldn't the initial sales of Night alone be worth the risk of their transfer being reused though? Every other country has a release from much smaller companies then Shout. Plus Scream should have big enough of a fanbase that people would buy their version just to complete their collections. As well, they would have the only release to include the film uncut with the proper aspect ratio, and I'm sure they could include some exclusive extras that would make it worth the purchase alone. Romero fans are pretty die hard, and there are tons of fans clamouring for a proper Bluray release of Night. Last Man on Earth and House on Haunted Hill could be big as well, although to a lesser extent. There's a reason companies like Elite, Dimension, Anchor Bay, and Warner have all spent money releasing these titles on DVD. As long as Scream makes these movies worth it with the extras, these could be huge!

Exactly. Glad to see all the Howling 2 fans come out. It's not a good movie by any means, but it's a whole lot of fun! And really, it's definitely no worse then Video Dead!

I think the opportunity has come and gone-- HOWLING 2 is a limited audience flick to say the least and could have been a great supplement on the upcoming release of THE HOWLING (like Evictors was with The Town That Dreaded Sundown)....

***EXCLUSIVE KEY ART REVEAL***

Check out the classy new artwork for our upcoming Blu-ray set of THE VINCENT PRICE COLLECTION, illustrated by artist Joel Robinson.

The image on the left will be on the slipcase. The image on the right - with a clever “skull” reveal - will be on blu-ray case that will house the following films: Fall of the House of Usher, The Haunted Palace, The Masque of the Red Death, The Pit and the Pendulum, Witchfinder General (and its alternate U.S. version, The Conqueror Worm) and The Abominable Dr. Phibes. A 24-page booklet will also be included that will include original theatrical poster images.

The set is planned for Fall before Halloween. Look for more details on extras and exact street date later on this Summer.

I enjoy me sum HOWLING 2: YOU'RE SISTER'S A WEREWOLF too!

No disrespect, but I don't get some of their moves.
They seem to let their person feelings interfere with business:

- They turned down Howling 2, which clearly has a fairly large following, as with many other cult films.

- They turned down Psycho 4, which again has a pretty hefty fan base. Many on fb questioned this and even on this thread.

- They repeatedly said they would not be releasing Prom Night II or Serpent and the Rainbow because they don't like it. Even before Metro Goldwyn Mayer lost the Prom Night sequel.

All due respect to Shout Factory, Im glad we are getting all of these cult films but, please reconsider some of these rash moves, if possible.

^ Very nice, classy artwork choice for the Vincent Price collection.

Very much looking forward to this release of these terrific films.

As a side note, I'm glad to see a nice handful of HOWLING II fans here! I knew I wasn't the only one.

I believe Cliff said DVD sales were low. I don't think the movie had the fan base it does now though. So many such as myself only recently found out about the greatness of it, like Troll 2. Bad movies have really gained in popularity over the years. There's a reason Troll 2, Miami Connection, Burial Ground, ect. are out on Bluray!

I don't get this one at all, unless Universal wanted too much for it. Even if Cliff doesn't like it, there are many fans out there of it, and for those that aren't, I'm sure they would want it just to complete their collection and have Perkins final performance as Norman Bates. It would have been a nice bonus. Hopefully they include the feature length Psycho legacy doc. as a bonus feature, since they own it.

I haven't seen Prom Night 2 but I've heard good things, Serpent is awesome though! Either way I'm sure both of these would sell well, as they are both highly requested titles.
