I also get a bit miffed when I hear that a BD release is doubtful because the DVDs didn't sell.

I've got about 610 BDs and most of them are NOT movies that I bought on DVD. I've specifically avoided buying many DVDs because I'm waiting for them on BD.

So I'm always a bit disappointed when it's suggested that I have to buy something on DVD first to prove that I'll buy it on BD. I've bought almost every Scream BD so far released and I don't think any of them are of titles that I previously owned on DVD.

Exactly.

And, on another note, I'm REALLY excited to see the PRINCE OF DARKNESS unveiling today.

Obviously, the next art we should see is going to be Night of the Comet, after the P.O.D cover.
I am really excited for that one as well.

Exactly, I don't own many, many of my favorites on DVD.
But I have, and would, jump at blu-ray's.

A different format is just that, different.

And, if a company treats a film well with features and quality, then more people will buy it. Like Curtains, the echo bridge 4 pack version, I would not image a ton of people bought that. But I know a lot who would jump at a Collector's Edition version, or even just one with better pq, aq, and some type of bonus content.

Echo Bridge's release of Curtain isn't just annoying, it's insulting. That they would shaft a classic cult film by lumping it with four Z-grade pieces of crap that nobody has even heard of, makes my blood boil.

NIGHT OF THE COMET is a great choice, and one I'm very excited for. This was a huge HBO movie for me as a kid but I haven't seen it in many years.

I was thinking, if there isnt one already, a Howling II thread over in wishlists could be a cool place for fans of the film to talk about the film..

I liked the all black cover to Prince of Darkness actually...it reminded me of the Metallica black album..I dont know why but what would be hysterical to me is the cover for the artwork was the photo of Cliff and Jeff with Jamie Lee Curtis in between them. The top has the Prince of Darkness title and under that are the three of them with their smiles and everything....

I gotta say, controversy aside with Justin, that may be my favorite Scream Factory cover so far. Really gorgeous design and placement. Nice work!

I agree. Say what you will about Justin, but he can really paint, draw, trace, copy, or whatever the hell he does. Prince of Darkness looks fantastic, as did Lifeforce and The Fog.

I'd hate to derail the thread with a topic like that I'm sure you can find stuff floating on the internet about it. Certainly not trying to be rude but I'd just hate to sour a cool announcement/reveal day like this by bringing up dead topics . All that said, I have to say again that this cover truly is gorgeous. I really dig the color scheme Justin has going on in it.

Who has the rights to FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS in the USA? I know Warner has released it overseas, but MGM at least released it theatrically in the states.

The artist, Justin Osborn, was found to have used pre-existing images and cut/paste them into his "original" artwork. Some of the material he "designed" was just cobbled together bits of other people's work. For example, there's a image from the Nightmare City poster in the people running on Scream Factory's Lifeforce cover and one of the actor's head is directly from another movie poster. There's a website with countless amusing examples and the original source content. Sceam seems to be standing by him (maybe due to contract issues).

...ok, back in line to maintaining silence about anything controversal.
