I thought "Grindhouse" as a whole was pretty sub-par, though I'll admit that the trailers were pretty enjoyable.

As long as its better than Spy Kids 3D or Sharkboy Meets Lavagirl. Brad "The Cinema Snob" Jones said it best: "Robert Rodriguez is as bad at making kids movies as he is good at making action movies." Now, I'm gonna watch Machete. See you in 95 minutes.

I actually ALWAYS check the OP to see if the answer is there and it wasn't this time. Maybe putting an asterisk in the OP next to the title, or just saying, "ALL Collectors Edition releases come with a slip cover of new artwork" will eliminate this question entirely. Just a thought...there's no way you're going to stop people from asking certain questions. So lets try something constructive instead of lashing out, eh?

Also, I believe it was mentioned yesterday that newer films like "Dead Souls" and "Cockneys VS. Zombies" will be sporting slips so it doesn't seem to be limited to just the Collector's Editions anymore. In addition, I believe the box sets will have them as well so maybe as they get released notes in regards which actually have the slips will be added.

I would love for Shout to get a deal with Filmax for the Fantastic Factory titles lionsgate f'ed up on DVD, titles like Faust, The Nun, Beneath Still Waters, Rottweiler, Werewolf Hunter , Beyond Re-Animator, Dagon and Arachnid.

Also for Shout to make a deal with Brian Yuzna for Society and Bride of Re-Animator .

A deal with After Dark Films, they got a lot of Horror movies (@lionsgate) that have not been on Blu also the Action films they produced (@ Warners) like Van Dammes Dragon Eyes, Lundgren Stash House, Scott Adkins in El gringo.

Also shout (not scream factory) should make a deal with Millennium Films to distribute the Nu Image catalog, lots of B-action movies as well as B-horror movies not available on Blu.

Just throwing ideas in the air here. Most of this might not be possible.

Sadly, most of them... Millenium has there own releasing company so I don't see them licensing. I've noticed a lot of catalog four pack in Best Buy lately.

Lionsgate just isn't interested in doing a deal.

The After Dark films are at Warner.

Not sure we'll ever crack Warner. I'm sure they gave Criterion BADLANDS at the request of the director.

Since we are discussing Warner there isn't a chance Shout will ever get the rights to Critters is there?

They would make the perfect 4 pak. Or the first one would make a awesome Collectors Edition.

Seeing as Scream just announced a film I was close to purchasing at Amazon Germany (Crawlspace), I thought I'd inquire about another Amazon.de Blu I am itching to get: Anguish (1987). That on your radar at all, Cliff? Wasn't sure where the rights might be (Anchor Bay did the DVD back in the day)

I was actually under the impression that they had actually gotten more than one film from Warner.

Mind you, I do realize that if that's the case, then the whole deal is likely a one-time thing, and not likely to happen again...

Blue Underground owns it. You can always ask them if they plan to do it on blu-ray someday...

Long rant coming, most of which is aimed at blue underground and then I'll be slipping off into a tangent over Masters of Cinema. Both of which have nothing to do with this thread and I apologize for that which is why I'll spoiler tag it and if you want to read it, you can, if not, ignore it.

[Show spoiler]While you're at it, ask if Blue Underground plans on releasing anything good on blu-ray someday or whether they're going to hurry up and call it quits. It's evident that they hate money and happiness by announcing "Snuff" as their first blu-ray release in god knows how long.

Nobody wants Snuff on blu-ray or really cares about it much. Blue Underground are more irritating than Masters of Cinema now.

Masters of Cinema will stick around for longer obviously since they've still got a lot of fans and they're releasing stuff that some people still want but they're both doing the same thing that irritates me.

They're releasing too many personal favourites.

In the case of Blue Underground, they kept releasing european movies that generally look and sound bad on blu-ray. That's not entirely BU's fault. It's mostly up to the source material but they released too many of them then one day drifted off and nobody heard anything from them until Snuff was announced.

Everyone was beginning to think that BU was done for but hoping that if they did make an announcement, it would finally be a good one. One to get the people excited and getting their wallets out when the time comes. But no... SNUFF?!?!?! They've got the rights to plenty of films horror fans are dying for, films that would actually get their business flowing again and they have got to at least half know that.

Masters of Cinema irritate me for the same reason; releasing too many personal favourites. In this case, it's more of a personal problem because not many others have the same issue as I do.

I find so much of the titles they releasing boring quite frankly. Most of what they release are dull, 40's-60's drama's from asia and italy that yes, are important to cinema history.

I would never say they shouldn't be released. I don't like a lot of them, but so many other people do and they should get it eventually but for christ sake, release some more entertaining stuff and more contemporary stuff.

If anyone looks in my collection, they'll see that I have a very wide spectrum of film taste. I appreciate just about every genre provided the movie works for me. I like long movies, slow movies, old (even the oldest of movies) but I also like movies with a bit more punch to them too.

I guess it irritates me because MoC are an excellent company who do great work but I personally just find so many of their announcements boring and I'd like to see more interesting titles getting blu-ray releases mixed in with the slow and dull asian and italian drama's.

Give us some more silent classics, some film-noir, excellent modern foreign films that are being ignored etc. I've practically begun to ignore MoC. The only titles I want from them now are Vampyr (on DVD) and The Blue Angel (blu-ray).

He has been working on the Maniac remake, along with other projects. His company is incredibly small and without him several titles would not be on blu-ray at all. He is reportedly getting around to more new releases.

He is just one man.

I did wonder if Scream might release The Other, though I see Twilight Time have nabbed that one. Great film.

and MindWarp. That sucks.

I hate you Twilight Time.
But I like you better than I'm liking Synapse right now...

Even if all your releases are nothing but a steaming pile of [EXPLETIVE DELETED].

Technically, two. He has a partner in LA, at least that's what he told me when I sat in with him on a QC session for the "Zombie" Blu-ray.
