I may be wrong, but didn't he say no to your post on Facebook regarding Steel and Lace and The Vindicator?

Although you're talking about me (of that I'm sure, as I tend to do that a lot), and I totally agree. I need Psycho II.

The Thing is far from E.T. or Jaws or The Breakfast Club.

I admit that I could be wrong but I seriously doubt that THE BREAKFAST CLUB is a bigger home video moneymaker than THE THING....

Genuinly was'nt talkin about anyone in paticular pal, more a tongue-in-cheek reference to it being abit dull at the moment and the need for some to compete.

I hope we don't have to wait until July 15th for another announcement
Id be happy to see the artwork for the Psycho films, MST3K the movie or the 4 movie classics. Im amazed Shout hasn't mentioned MST or the 4 movie classics on their page yet actually...These are all good releases
Id settle for a 3rd tier movie announcement at this point lol

Yes. But I'll be the first to admit that I correct people a little too much.

This is one hell of a year for Scream and Shout Factory as they are doing the best bangs for my buck on BD and DVD.

I knew they would do Psycho 2 and 3 as i always wished it.

I hope they announce these titles:

The Burbs
Village of the Damned (Remake)
Phantom of the Paradise
Pumpkinhead
The Serpent and the Rainbow
Motel Hell
The Sentinel

These would be okay substitutes:

Deranged
Squirm
Shocker - Not that good, only worth owning because it's a Craven title.
People Under the Stairs - Not that good, only worth owning because it's a Craven title.

If there is a surprise I hope it is one of the following:

The Thing - Desperately needs a better release!
Escape from New York - Desperately needs a better release!
Hell Night
Night of the Demons
The Midnight Hour
The Legend of Hell House

I hope it is not:

The Phantom of the Opera (1989) - I thought this was terrible!
Shock Treatment - Not a huge fan of Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I agreed with you until this point. I love Freddy!.. I mean Phantom...

Have you actually seen Shock Treatment?
Its about the farthest thing from Rocky Horror. Still great though.

I highly doubt that it will be Shock Treatment or Escape from New York, as they are not horror titles. They are more Shout! titles than Scream.

How about a double bill of:
Phantom ('89) and what was to be its sequel, Dance Macabre (which also stars Englund).

The Odd Angry Shot - Thread

Well, some non-Shout news for cult film fans.
Synapse just announced The Odd Angry Shot(1979).

Shout! needs to jump on the bandwagon and announce something (or show some art). Synapse and Warner have had new announcements today!

As far as Shocky goes, it's a horror-comedy-musical. About an insane doctor who locks up a man in a mental institution. I think thats pretty scary a premise. And Cliff did say in a comment about Shocky and Phantom of the Paradise that he would like to relelase them. I think they'd both fit well into the Scream line, no less so than Ninja 3.

Now you're talking. I would love this pairing. Perfect.
I don't think Dance Macabre has had an official DVD release has it?

Interesting announcement, but it doesn't really belong in the SCREAM Factory thread. Even though Synapse is releasing it, it isn't a horror film.

I guess it would work. I, personally, always thought it to be a WTF musical. I never thought it to be horror, as it was very light-hearted, did not take itself seriously in the least, and hid the horror elements behind some great songs.
Phantom, however, would fit this line like a glove. I'm still confused as to why Criterion never tried to pick it up.

It has not. That's why it would work.
