Without the new art, I kind of wish that Psycho II & III would be turned into standard, non-CE releases with CE level extras, just for consistency's sake. Also, didn't Universal's blu of the original Psycho have new art? Didn't every Psycho DVD, especially the sequels, have new art?

Fine with me. As much as I love the Scream releases, I'm not a fan of the new artwork and always flip over to the original art.

I agree. It just doesn't feel like a real collector's edition...

I was the dude that discovered the issue.

Spoke to Ammy Live chat. Instructed by Shout Factory to stop shipping internationally. Wrote Shout an email. Here is their response:

Hey sorry Donovan,

Our hands are tied.

We do not have international rights.

The rights belong to studios or other productions.

They decide on distribution rights. Most of our titles are North America only. (Region 1/A)

In this day and age piracy is a big deal. This is one of the few unfortunate ways to deal with the issue.

There is always the option of having a friend ship the title to you.

Regards,

Shout Factory

I like the piracy comment. Best way to stop piracy is not to sell you a disc. I hope that works out for them.

Agree. Region coding doesn't stop pirates one bit.

How do studios think this will stop piracy again?

In fact, isn't this DVD of 3 the poster of 2 tinted pink?

Psycho Blu (New Art!?!):

I was able to buy the four I wanted. I just sent to a friend. He will likely watch and then send to me. So playing these silly games doesn't stop anything.

I got a notice 10 minutes ago from Amazon.com stating that they cancelled my pre-order for Psycho 2, Psycho3 and Prince of Darkness. They said that this was due to Shout Factory's warranty and support issue policy.

I guess living in Region Eh, Canada (the north of North America) makes me an international customer as well.

I contacted Amazon regarding this issue through their live-chat service and the person stated that it was the manufacturer's policy not Amazon's.

Here's a problems as it relates to amazon.com and Scream/Shout titles.

This is now what amazon.com says on most Scream/Shout titles:

"Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses.

Do you see a problem?

If you're Canadian, you do. Canada is part of North America (actually we're MOST of North America ). And, of course, we are Region A. Amazon seem to have it in it's mind that it won't ship even to another Region A country where Scream holds the rights.

So something screwy is afoot.

Now, personally, this isn't really a big issue for me. I have almost every single Scream and Shout Blu-ray. I've either bought them in the store or ordered them from online sources other than amazon.com anyway.

But there is something not right here. It's just not adding up. Many of us (myself included) have bought Blu-ray titles from all over the world. The fact that amazon.com has decided that Region A titles from ONE company can't be exported outside of the U.S. ...even to another Region A country...is bizarre.

I think that somebody has their wires crossed somewhere.

I'd like to see this resolved if for no other reason than to confirm if this was a REAL decision on somebody's part or if it was some minimum-wage contract data-entry worker pushing the wrong key.

EDIT: Just noticed jsvg00's post...see what I mean. Something is not making sense.

i was told by a person that i am in contact with that has to do with importcds. importcds are not allowed to sell any shout factory titles to anywhere outside north america. apparently they can be charged for doing this and i have been told that the smaller stores have received this warning too. the only way to get them is by getting a friend to send them to you.

I understand what you're saying, but what you quoted and highlighted(only within the U.S.) does not mean North America. I don't think anyone is disputing Canada being part of NA, but if Amazon ONLY ships to the US, that would not include Canada.

Regardless, this is pretty strange. Perhaps a group buy can be formed via this thread to help all the international customers(apparently Canada too) out.

Uh...yeah. That's WHY I highlighted it...because it doesn't make any sense.

And when something doesn't make any sense, we should find out how this "decision" came to be.

But your quote and what you are saying are two different things. US/North America.

It would be different if Amazon said: "Only ships within North America" then didn't ship to Canada.
Technically, by what you typed, Amazon is doing exactly what they said they are doing: ONLY shipping to the US.

Guess Canada and Mexico, and including the other Central American countries (Greenland can also be considered a part of NA although they're Region B), got kicked out of North America.

But it looks like anybody can still order from Amazon.ca.

I get what you're saying. Its kinda like this:

Amazon.com = US
Amazon.ca = Canads

Just order it from the Amazon that represents you, assuming you're issue is not with the Canadian Amazon.
