I'd love to release it, but we don't have the rights.

Thank you for the prompt response. Is this a title we may be PLANNING on trying to acquire the rights to? I see you agree, that it's a film deserved of much more attention/acknowledgement than it has gotten and a perfect late night horror film.

And I know you said NO to IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, but that is my other favorite and deserves so much more than a barebones release. It's JOHN CARPENTER!

If any of these were to come through in a second MGM deal (even if its years away), I would hope that Scream Factory releases:
-Vampire's Kiss
-Phantom of the Opera ('89) / Dance Macabre (most likely a TTDS situation)
-Pumpkinhead CE
-The Quatermass Xperiment
-Invaders from Mars
-Blacula / Scream Blacula Scream
-Motel Hell CE
-Full Moon High
-Ghoulies / Ghoulies II
-Troll

I would say teen and sex comedies are a whole other market and have a large cult following. Scorpion is testing the market right now with Pom Pom Girls, My Tutor, Tomboy and Beach Girls. Obviously these titles aren't in the same league as classics starring John Cusack or films like Revenge of the Nerds or The Last American Virgin, but it's a good start none the less!

I would love to see (Being all MGM, Universal or Fox titles),

The Last American Virgin (A classic being released by Arrow, hopefully like other titles Shout soon follows suit)
Losin' It (Starring a young Tom Cruise, Jackie Earle Haley and Shelley Long)
Valley Girl (Starring a young Nic Cage)
The Party Animal (One of the funniest teen comedies!)
Making the Grade (Another classic!)
Weird Science (Probably a longshot being a John Hughes flick)
The Sure Thing (John Cusack!)
Fraternity Vacation (Not sure who owns this one but it's a great flick with a young Tim Robbins and Stephen Geoffreys from Fright Night fame, among other horror classics)
Revenge of the Nerds 1-4 + TV Pilot Collection (How have none of these been released on Blu yet!?)
Porky's 2-3 Double Feature
Ski School 1-2 Double Feature
Hardbodies 1-2 Double Feature (Not sure if Anchor Bay still has these flicks)
Private School (Phoebe Cates showing the goods pre Fast Times)
Bachelor Party (Starring a young Tom Hanks)
Class
Zapped!
Mischief (This will unfortunately probably get a barebones release from Anchor Bay)
Hot Dog: The Movie
Meatballs 3-4 Double Feature (3 has never been released on DVD and 4 stars the Feldster!)
Weekend at Bernies
Illegally Yours
Johnny Be Good
Hamburger: The Motion Picture
Secret Admirer
Up the Creek (Has only ever been released as a DVD-R through MGM's burn on demand service)
Doctor Detroit (Insane sex romp starring Dan Aykroyd)

And not teen flicks but definitely need Blu releases!

The Great Outdoors (One of the best comedies starring John Candy and Dan Aykroyd)
Mr. Mom (Only released Full Screen)
I would buy most, if not all, of those. Some are outright comedy classics that need immediate blu-ray releases: Revenge of the Nerds, Valley Girl, Weekend at Bernies, Weird Science, Bachelor Party, Sure Thing, Zapped! (yeah, it's a classic )

I've never seen Last American Virgin, but I've been hopin' that Shout would snag it.

From what I've heard, Last American Virgin has a strange tonal shift in the middle of the movie. It starts out as a wacky sex comedy and then turns into a teen angst drama.

More towards the end. I would describe it as bittersweet and it does feel like you just watched two different movies once the end credits start rolling. I love every minute of it

Vampire's Kiss is an amusing film; I'd be game for a release of that. Good one there, although not straight horror the ambiguity is nice and Nicholas Cage is spot on for once.

The only reason I saw it was because Nicolas Cage is my favorite actor (I'm in a minority of around ten people). I really enjoyed it though. It shouldn't be hard to get Nic for an interview. He certainly needs the money.

I haven't been paying much attention lately, but did SF explicitly say they were announcing some Uni titles?

Not really, but they have the new deal with Prince and Psycho 2&3. I assume there will be at least one.

i'm clueless , is Cliff a real person or is he an avatar that stands in for multiple people who respond to customers on behalf of the company, much like it is rumored that the legendary Jon Mulvaney at Criterion is not really a real person?

Thumbs up

A full slate for 2014 ? Oh boy - I wish we could get at least one announcement before the San Diego Comic Con ...something...
I was surprised about them not getting the Car as well...seems like a good choice to me...There is the Arrow version full of extras too...
I wonder if they may have Frogs and Squirm for 2014 ?
