Cliff is a real person. I'm pretty sure he is the only one that posts under his 'cmac' moniker.

Edit: DOH! I was zbinked!!!

muchas gracias to you both.

one of the things I like very much about reading this thread and following Scream is the more personal attention to customers and fans. It's a really nice part of the experience and is pulling me into thinking about purchasing movies that I might otherwise not consider. I don't have any yet but I'm going to start with Howling and the Halloweens.

But Lifeforce sounds really cool. I really love epic sci-fi (Silent Running is one of my favorites) . . . so do you think Lifeforce would be something I'd be into, or does it depart too much from the template of that genre?

Amazon knows it needs to be fixed. They just seem to be taking their sweet time to do it.

Thanks for the heads up cmac, it wasn't a dig at yourselves. getting frustrated with Amazon.

You guys are by far the best label out there at the moment. Keep up the good work.

It certainly is high on the What-the-F*ck-o-Meter. It rates an 11.

There is no way to describe it well. Do you like something that feels like a coked up mess but works? If so, seek it out.

Michael Cimino's Heaven's Gate is one of my favorite movies, so that might say something. I also like Friedkin's To Live and Die in LA a lot - in spite of it being way over the top. So I can definitely get into stuff that isn't subtle or that pushes the scope and style of a movie.

Just curious, how does the Lifeforce DVD release compare with the new Scream release?

They at least need to consider releasing above mentioned titles on Blu.
I would double-dip on all three of those, for sure!

And I would add one more that I'd double-dip on... Weekend at Bernie's.

Lifeforce probably holds more appeal as a horror film than it does as a sci-fi film.

The R1 DVD is bare bones.

SF/Shout has been great so far, but I really wish they start implementing the resume feature on their releases or just stop using Java. Most releases nowadays includes some sort of resume playback feature or the bookmark option. C'mon Shout, you can do it too!

-Pumpkinhead CE
-The Quatermass Xperiment
-Invaders from Mars
-Blacula / Scream Blacula Scream
-Motel Hell CE
-Full Moon High
-Ghoulies / Ghoulies II
-Troll / Troll II
I'd buy every single one of those.

But Specifically the ones I bolded.

Phantom is amazing. and Danse needs an actual release!

They aren't a "big" company, as in a larger studio, I'm sure for their somewhat limited audience, it would cost a ton to add it when people are buying them anyway without it.

And, really, how hard is it to just skip back to it...
I usually don't watch a movie when I don't have time, or intention, to finish it.

I don't get why Anchor Bay chooses to release comedies like Airheads & Black Knight and not more of their horror catalog. While we sit and wait for a Blu-ray release of say Phantasm or even a newer film like Laid to Rest, they instead give us Stuck on You & Chasing Papi.

Different people running it's divisions and departments.

They obviously have much different interests and concerns with the direction Anchor Bay will be going.

What ever happened to Troll 2: Part II? Is Claudio Fragasso still writing it, or has it been abandoned?
