It really is! Maybe watch it in July. It doesn't have a killer in a santa suit or anything - it just happens that a killer attacks a sorority house during the holiday break.

You'd really be doing yourself a disservice by not watching Black Christmas. Great movie!

Cliff, how about Phantom of the Paradise (1974)? Also, are you sure you don't have the The Serpent and the Rainbow?

Cliff, here are some questions for ya, a little interview while we wait for some title announcements:

What is the best selling Scream Factory title as of yet?

What is the worst selling Scream Title as of yet?

Do the double feature titles sell better than the single feature titles?

Did you work for another comapany before joining Shout! when producing the SE edition of Audition?

Is your team praized at Shout! for putting them on the map?

Do other companies want to hire you to do the same you have done for Shout! for their companies? Like, letssay Don May Jr asking you, hey, come work for Synapse!

Cliff, you dont have to answer.

We have some relatives to a deceased Danish director doing the same thing over here. The guy, Poul Nyrup, worked in different departments on numerous movies, including the infamous 'Reptilicus', but he also scraped enough money together to fund three hilarious Danish exploitation movies himself. They were released on VHS back in the 1980s, but ever since a local festival showed them in the mid-90s, his heirs have believed they sit on gold and have turned all offers to release them down. In the meantime, the prints are probably rotting away on some garage.

Yep, just like the son of a Oscar winning DP who also directed many classic British horror films, the 4 films he produced , 2 of them directed by his dad, will probably never come out because since the dawn of DVD, he wants an advance that is way above what anybody pays.

Hey Cliff,

Is there any truth that your Scanners 2/3 double feature won't be sold in Canada. I believe someone said it was mentioned on Facebook, possibly due to a rights issue?

Cliff worked for BCI before, doing fantastic work transforming the company from releasing PD titles to being a quality label with great releases of exploitation, martial arts and horror. I still love their Paul Naschy titles, their 'Welcome to the Grindhouse' double features, the 'Don't Answer the Phone' SE, the Aztec Mummy set etc. etc. Unfortunately, Navarre pulled the plug on BCI/ Eclipse and the label became a casualty of the financial crisis, like so many other small, but great specialty labels (Panik House, CasaNegra, Barrel Entertainment etc.)

Personally, I was thrilled to see Cliff as one of the key figures behind Shout! Factory's Corman titles and later Scream! Factory. I just knew it was going to be good.

Thank you for the info, How did you know the BCI info? My resaerch did not extend further more than IMDB, and they didnt list any info on the BCI titles.

Its called communicating with the man himself...sometimes you just ask Cliff a question and he answers..I have some of those Naschy titles actually...I was messaging him or something and he mentioned he worked there and handled the transfers (I think)
You could probably ask him anything except for what titles he bought the rights to that are still coming out

According to the FB page best selling titles: They live, Halloween II and III and Phantasm II.
As for the worst selling titles I have a feeling The vampire lovers didn't do too well because those type of movies never sell much. Ditto The island...

I don't know how representative this is of the blu ray market as a whole, but here's the collection stats I pulled up last week:

Day of the Dead - 118 collections
Dead Souls - 21 collections

Death Valley - 202 collections
The Fog - 272 collections
From Beyond - 434 collections
The Funhouse - 430 collections
Halloween II - 1008 collections
Halloween III - 1014 collections
The Howling - 293 collections
The Incredible Melting Man - 70 collections
The Island - 199 collections
Lifeforce - 294 collections
The Nest - 209 collections
Ninja III - 144 collections
Phantasm II - 399 collections
Prince of Darkness - 147 collections
Prison - 268 collections
Q - 69 collections
Scanners II/III - 48 collections
Swamp Thing - 102 collections
Terror Train - 459 collections
Terrorvision/The Video Dead - 305 collections
They Live - 1180 collections
The Town That Dreaded Sundown - 287 collections
Vampire Lovers - 241 collections
X-Ray/Schizoid - 51 collections

I'm one of the two who pre-ordered CvZ, and I don't know anything about it
That would lead us to believe They Live is the best-selling title. Deadly Blessing is the worst selling collector's edition. And Dead Souls is on a pretty good pace to be the worst selling other title

I'm not surprised by the best selling. It's funny because They Live, Phantasm 2, and Halloween 2 to a certain extent are the ones I have seen people complain about the most due to the PQ. Not me mind you, I think they look great!.

I hope Vampire Lovers doesn't hurt them releasing more Hammer or older films in general. I love Hammer films, and that was a title I wasn't even that excited about. Same with the Ninja films, the rest will only be released depending on sales of Ninja 3, which from what I've heard isn't the best of the series. And finally the Price set, are these the most popular? I'll be grabbing it day one either way, but it's too bad we won't see Tales of Terror, Twice Told Tales, Madhouse, Dr. Phibes Rises Again!, or Theatre of Blood unless this set sells well. I think the films I mentioned would have possibly sold better to the Scream crowd, especially Madhouse and Theatre of Blood considering they are slasher films.
