I just got around to watching PHANTASM II Saturday night and loved it, I forgot how good it was. I wish SF would Release 1, 3 and 4.

I know I'm a little late to the party commenting on this news but this sounds like a GREAT release! I remember watching "Dungeonmaster" in the basement rec room of my freshman dorms on a VHS tape we had bought at a garage sale for $.25 (no idea what became of it), so I've got great memories of that one - and I've been watching to see "Contamination .7" forever!

Great job Scream!

First sample of Q: THE WINGED SERPENT just flew in!

Official release 8/27

In addition, Scream Factory mentioned in a Facebook comment: "This the main art - not reversible although there are cool images on the inside".

Yeah, just wishful thinking, I guess. I was hoping for a real standalone release Blu or even DVD, as opposed to the Universal DVD-R on demand version, so I don't have to double-dip, having already bought the SCREAM version.

I'd be just as happy if Scream could use it as an extra feature on, say, Prince of Darkness. Either way, I guess the lesson for me is pay better attention to the release schedule. I totally missed the Universal release of Halloween II.

I need to get something off my chest and vent before I move on. I want to make perfectly clear that whatever the content is discussed in this thread never has and never will matter to me, be it a blu ray release or a DVD release. I, like a lot of you are enthusiastic fans and are eager to post something about any release of Scream Factory no matter the format. Someone will always mention the latest announcement whether its me or someone else. The problem that I was having had nothing to do with the content of this thread, but about saying "Thank you" - but it did turn into a forum content debate.
Arguing over thread content, slip covers and movie formats are completely frivolous to me. Not important at all.
Since we were all children at some point, Im sure some of our parents taught us the importance of saying 'please' and 'thank you'...
How this relates to movie releases on DVD or Blu Ray is at least for me, is being very appreciate of what is being released be it from Scream Factory, Olive Films, Synapse. I have learned to be very thankful for companies that are releasing sought after titles, and what bothers me are those negative backlash unappreciative comments that I wind up reading. Sure I see a lot of great thankful funny comments but then we get those repeated "where is Psycho IV' or "why cant this be on Blu Ray" comments that have been clearly explained by the studios many times over. Just recently in the Tremors Blu Ray thread, there was a user who said the same damn thing over and over again, page after page of "i wont buy it because of the DNR"
I dont need to be reading pages of the same nonsense. The reason I joined was to read about upcoming releases and see what the releases' extras will contain, and discuss with other members and not get into tissy fits over something that really means nothing in real life.
Collecting movies at least for me is a luxury and I consider myself fortunate to have a job and life where I can afford to buy movies and a wife who doesn't mind that I have 9 shelves full of movies. I am a fan just like the rest of you and I think every release is a step forward for my movie collection. Not only do I get a movie I love in the best format but I also in some cases get to see a film for the first time ever - and Im just glad for the opportunity to be able to watch something new to me (like those 4 film sets)
I look at it like this - its your birthday, you get one gift, do you say thank you or do say, is that all im getting ?
My writing this has no intention of causing drama and no I am not attacking anyone specifically, I just felt the need to explain myself and how I roll these days. If you dislike me or what I am writing you can always ignore me, Ill try not to cry about it
**Peace and happy collecting to all **

A few months ago I watched (on DVD) "THE FOG" for the first time in years. Enjoyed it (and the extras) but didn't think it was a film that I necessarily really needed to own.

Then I find out that SCREAM is releasing a Blu-Ray with all the bonus features from the DVD plus additional extras.

And I'm going to buy it, first day because I really appreciate the work that they put into their releases.

I passed on the DVD (which would have been free BTW) but will pay money for the BD.

So thank you SCREAM for making the idea of adding "THE FOG" to my collection something that I just can't pass up.

The next to Scream titles I'm planning on getting.

The Fog
The Incredible Melting

Question? For those that preorder via Amazon. How are the condition of the slips that you are getting? Mine are always jacked up pretty bad. I mean bent corners and bad creases in them. I would order from Shout but AMZ is cheaper for me. Sorry Cliff.

Nothing too terribly bad, maybe a mildly dinged corner here and there, but generally speaking, mine have all been fine.

Very well put and I agree . I thought the whole DVD issue in this thread was so petty when it had to moved to its own thread. It was 2 DVD's being mentioned amongst a bunch of Blu rays. Oh the shock horror of a DVD even being mentioned.

I've taken a break from posting on these forums for a couple of days, cause there's so much negativity going on, esp in the Friday the 13th Complete Collection thread.

We should be glad that we're getting all these great movies released. Some people focus way to much on the technical side of things, eg formats, packaging, PQ, AQ etc. Sure those are important, but for me its the actual movie itself thats most important.

The reason why DVD issue got moved to its own thread because this thread isn't a DVD subforum. it should have been done a while ago but it wasn't.. We have a DVD section on this site for a reason, and this thread is in the Blu-ray subforum for a reason as well .. We currently now have 3 Scream/Shout factory threads
