I'm guessing that Serpent and the Rainbow, Shocker, and People Under the Stairs are a lock (or at least 2 out of 3). Village of the Damned '95 is probably another strong contender. Other Uni titles that are possible: Firestarter, Cat People, Sentinel, 'Burbs, Matinee, Raising Cain, Ghost Story. Maybe they'll stun us with something like Session 9 or Slither...

Did Shout make another deal with MGM? Cause if not, then that well seems pretty dry. If they were able to make a new deal with Fox, then Phantom of the Paradise is a no-brainer.

I'm sure there are a couple of other surprises in store for us, but I seriously doubt Fright Night II is one of them. I would love to be wrong, though.

While I think we'll definitely see some of the titles we're expecting, I think that we'll see some surprises, too. I'm hoping that there's been a new deal with another studio that hasn't been advertised, like how Synapse just acquired Curtains and Prom Night, and that we'll see some titles that we figured would never happen. Anyway, here are my guesses:

Based on the Universal/MGM titles, I think we'll likely see:
Shocker
The People Under the Stairs
The Sentinal
Scarecrows
The Dark Half
Village of the Damned

Previously Turned Down Titles:
Pumpkinhead
Bubba Ho-Tep

Surprise Announcements:
Phantasm
Dawn of the Dead (With all of the Cuts)
Candyman

I would love to see a few more modern horror films from Scream, too: Slither, Session 9, and Dead Silence.

No - that's New Line, which means Warner. The DVD Image released was fairly decent and AFAIK it's still easily available. I've seen mentioned that MGM's well has run dry so it's assumed we shouldn't expect any more titles but I strongly disagree. MGM has a vast library, including lots of stuff from defunct companies that they picked up over the years. I fully expect to see more MGM titles announced and don't forget that Shout said they haven't announced the slate for the rest of 2013 so there's definitely more stuff still on the way that we don't even know about yet. Very exciting times

Blood Rage is a low-budget, not-bad slasher with moody atmosphere, creepy synth score, and downbeat ending. I haven't seen the other two, but Blindside stars Harvey Keitel as a peeping tom/sleazy motel owner, and Bullies is a rural revenge flick directed by Caxuxploitation master Paul Lynch (Prom Night, Humongous).

That's why I asked if they made another deal.

Whatever titles Shout have left from the first deal will likely scrape the bottom of the barrel. But if they made a new deal, then yeah, the sky's the limit. My top 3 most wanted: New Year's Evil, Pumpkinhead, and Motel Hell.

Blindside and Bullies were both directed by Paul Lynch. I noticed that when I looked up Simcom.

How in the world have I never known about Blindside's existence with my love for Harvey Keitel and all.

Don't MGM own the rights to Narciso Ibáñez Serrador's superb The House That Screamed (aka Finishing School aka La residencia)? That would be great to see on Blu.

My guesses/wishful hopes for today's announcement:

The People Under the Stairs
The Serpent and the Rainbow
Raising Cain
Shock Treatment
Mortuary or The Mutilator (a boy can dream, right?)

My prayers were already answered earlier this week with Synapse's announcement of Curtains and Prom Night so no matter what Scream Factory announces, it'll just be icing on the cake.

I also think Shocker and People Under the Stairs are strong candidates...
Village of the Damned I can also see happening...maybe the Burbs, maybe Invaders from Mars , but the one title that is getting overlooked that maybe tonight's the night a highly requested title finally gets announced
Without Warning !!

I can also see a surprise title -Dawn of or Night of the Living Dead -shot down - yes - but remember this company has surprised us in the past - Cliff said they couldnt get Army of Darkness - but we can still keep our fingers crossed since after all this is a convention and I would think this would be the right time and place to announce "major" titles

And still there are other possibilities - Sentinel, Visiting Hours and Bad Dreams (although none of these films do anything for me )

Night of the Living Dead is still a no go, as its public domain.
Bad Dreams/Visiting Hours probably aren't in there, as that would not be a CE.
Army of Darkness was denied fairly recently for Universal wave 2. I wouldn't get my hopes up for it.
