It's closer to the book, a bit longer, and all in all what Barker envisioned. At least I assume this. I have never seen either.

Night of the Comet is the best on that list imo.

Because both would appeal to genre fans? Eve of Destruction has sci-fi elements, but it's been so long since I've seen it that I can't remember if there are horror aspects, but there is no way that anyone could ever make a reasonable argument for Assault being a horror film. I mean, yeah, the silent and almost endless parade of thugs trying to gain entry into the police station is reminiscent of Night of the Living Dead, but that's really it. I'll buy it regardless (if they use a new transfer, that is), and ultimately it doesn't matter, but Assault on Precinct 13 does NOT belong in the main Scream line.

Very excited about:

Assault On Precinct 13 - 1 of my favorite Carpenters/will be 4th time buying
Darkman - the Universal blu could definitely use the upgrade
Nightbreed:TCC - I've loved this movie since high school. I completely doubt it's possible, but I'd very much want it to also have the Theatrical cut
Cat People - I've only seen it once, but it's an interesting Schrader film

Can you imagine all the bellyaching here if they released a box set that included Prince of Darkness, Assault and The Fog only a few months after they received individual releases? I wouldn't count on a Carpenter box at any time in the near (or even distant) future.


Edit: Maybe in 2015/16 if they eventually get The Thing and/or Escape from New York.

I'd say it'd happen when they get all available titles.
That means no In the Mouth of Madness, Escape from L.A., Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Somebody's Watching Me, Dark Star, or The Thing.

Yeah dude like someone else before my just said I won't be buying all these, my wallet is taking a break after October. I'll get "Body Bags" and "Darkman", maybe "Night of the Comet", on the fence for "Assault" since I already own the Image disc.

Three maybe four of these titles are worth purchasing if you ask me.

I thought Body Bags was the best on the list myself. My mom liked Night of the Comet
Every time I see Eve of Destruction as a title they announced, to me it has budget DVD release written all over it lol
