Yeah and I am a huge Michael Caine fan and that still didn't help me from feeling the same as you did about the movie. Yeah Death Valley was solid, not gonna knock that film because I did enjoy that but The Nest, how can you go wrong with a cheezy giant bug movie.

Death Valley-- entertaining thriller with at least one great suspense scene
The Nest---- fun killer bug movie-- cheesy in spots but that's to be expected
The Island-- the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes are pretty good-- the rest is a crashing bore

Human size roaches rule
As for Michel Caine - I just love Dressed to Kill - my favorite DePalma film. I love this film to the point that Im getting the Arrow Blu Ray on top of the MGM release. I also love him in the Batman Nolan series
Im so glad Scream put out a definitive release of the Nest - at least the best they could do

The Island is pretty good, imo. But it helps to add the book into the equation of everything happening on screen, you really "get it" more.

Just a FYI on the slip cover issue...I had ordered Halloween III directly from Shout and did not receive a slip so emailed customer servive who replied they would send a replacement...well, it came over the weekend and very quickly I might add. I'm not sure why they didn't put one on to begin with but they sure addressed the problem with me in short order...very pleased

It's my favorite Scream Factory title as well (They Live is a close second) and I had never seen the film prior to buying this Scream Factory release. So...it doesn't necessarily require the nostalgia factor in order to appreciate. But you really have to like 80s horror and I do. I pretty much love everything about 80s pop culture and am having fun discovering these movies that Scream is bringing us in loaded editions. I will seriously blind buy any SF title as long as it's from the 80s and comes packed with extras.

Really makes no sense why an online retailer would do that.

Seems the best bet as it was said further up is to get the Collector's Editions as soon as they come out. I've been doing that and have not had one come without a slipcover.
I usually order mine right away as well and have always gotten a slip.
However I ordered Halloween II last week (wasnt intending to buy the blu since i had the forst blu, but coildnt help myself after ha) and it came with a slip, I was surprised because I heard people weren't getting them. So there is still a chance to get them.

Last month I ordered Terror Train, Halloween II & III, Deadly Blessing and Phantasm II from Amazon as groomsmen gifts.

All of them showed up with slips.

Any idea when we'll get new announcements?

Unfortunately, I'm not interested in any of the titles announced at CC. Most of them I've never heard of, but I am happy for the fans of those films.

I'm really looking forward to see what else Scream has coming. It's so great to have a company specializing in horror releases that actually put out quality products. Thanks Scream!

Watched LifeForce Saturday night, Tobe Hooper is an amazing Director. The Blu-ray looked great. Can't wait to get THE FOG Wednesday.

I miss the Friday announcements but I think Shout may have stopped the practice because of the high level of negativity. Facebook is their venue of choice nowadays whenever they announce something but the news always ends up quickly duplicated on here so we'll never miss a beat

Some people have begun dismissing the idea of further MGM titles and focusing on Universal and the ITC library. Personally, I don't believe Shout is done with MGM - far from it. I still think there are a handful of movies from their original announcement that they haven't even announced yet, and of course there are the DVD-only titles that make up the majority of their multi-packs (love those). There's lots to look forward to, I'm sure.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, the Friday announcements were great. I understand though, as anything on FB seems to be a breeding ground for ignorant and hateful comments no matter what.

Sadly I'm not too savvy on which studios own the rights to which films. Some titles I'd love to see Scream to release (that haven't had a proper US release yet) are:
-Wait Until Dark
-Freaks
-Don't Look Now
-Suspiria
-Phantasm
-The Serpent and the Rainbow
-The Hitcher
-House on Haunted Hill
-Peeping Tom
-It's Alive
-The Wicker Man
-The Sentinal
-Dead Zone
-The Changeling
-The Beyond
-The Tenant
-Duel
-The Black Cat
-Candyman
-The Brood
-Blood and Black Lace
-Alice, Sweet Alice
-Village of the Damned
-Cat People (1942)
-Wolf Creek
-Scanners
-Ginger Snaps

I'm sure many of these are unlikely due to licensing issues and such, but it'd be awesome if Scream Factory (or at least any reputable company) released these soon.

Scanners and The Brood are supposed to be released by Criterion before the end of the year. Possibly The Tennant too... Last I checked they also had Peeping Tom, although they may have lost it.

I would LOVE for Scream Factory to give "House on Haunted Hill" the collectors Edition Treatment but Warner probably won't let them. I know House on Haunted Hill is in the Public Domain but Scream Factory would want access to the best possible Print and Extras and Warner probably has those
