It would also be a challenge because they hardly ever do black and white movies in HD...in fact off the top of my head, I cant think of a single one horror or otherwise they have done in black and white. I think the issue would be if it would sell because *its an older film*.
It appears that Timeless Media is handling the older movies (Angry Red Planet, Neanderthal Man)
Burn Witch Burn would be a GREAT black and white horror for them to release..its with MGM too , hmmm

Scream have not and never will release any B & W films. NOTLD would be the only one I could ever envision them potentially putting out, PD/rights issues aside.

Also, Cliff has flat out said that there will be no public domain movies on blu through the Scream line.

Where is your proof for saying that they would never put out a B&W film? I'm not saying it hasn't been said, but I'd like to see your proof for this statement.

I don't believe Cliff has stated it explicitly, but it is quite clear that their focus is almost entirely 80's and 90's, with a small handful of 70's titles and only the Price box for any 60's titles. None have been B & W, and such films simply and clearly do not fit their business model. I may have stated an opinion as empirical fact, but that is only because I am absolutely certain that my opinion in this case will stand up over time as fact. If 70's color horror doesn't sell (the Yorga movies being the example Cliff used, but I'm sure there have been others mentioned as well), then 60's and 50's B & W definitely doesn't sell. I mean, maybe they'd put a lone B & W Price title in a second Price box, but that would just be an exception with a couple of asterixes attached. It's just not going to happen. If I'm wrong, I'll be glad to be, but I am entirely positive I won't be, the two potential examples I cited aside.

Are these ever in stores? I might head out to Best Buy and see if they have the Fog or is it YMMV?

I'm sure Cliff would consider securing the rights to an older black and white title if it had a willing licensor, reasonable cost : profit ratio expectations and no rights issues whatsoever, especially if he personally liked the film. Unfortunately the films that meet each of those criteria are probably few and far between.

Unfortunately for Shout! Factory, films that do meet each of those criteria are probably on other companies' radars as well.

The Facebook page mentioned that some Best Buy stores may actually be carrying The Fog in-store. I would probably check online to see if your store shows any in stock or not first as this is very atypical.

I remember that discussion of titles that should be called *Scream titles* or not - Is Eve of Destruction something that should be in the Scream line or the Shout Factory line ? Im just curious here. I haven't seen it, probably rent it first if anything

The only place that carries them around me is Vintage Stock (holding my copy for me as we speak) or Barnes and Noble but B&N is priced way to high and don't have the slips.
Vintage stock usually doesn't have them till about a week or 2 after releases so I think they are expecting quite a few sales of the Fog.

At 4.7 on IMDb, is Eve of Destruction the lowest-rated film that Scream has released so far? Even The Video Dead managed to pull a 5.0! I only saw the film once on TV years ago, but remember it being pretty goofy. And that title!

B&N is so far out of the way for me but I guess it beats having to ship it for dollars more. I also respect their holding policy. If you see it online call em up and have them hold it for you.

That's how I got the Extended Lord of the Rings collection on blu I had called all Targets, Walmarts and Best Buys. I was in lucky that I got the only copy and they held it for me.

But that's somewhat skewed by all the MST3k fans who automatically go and assign every film that's been on MST3k a 0/10 (or is 1/10 the lowest?) score. If Eve had been on MST it would have a lower score, and if IMM hadn't been on MST it would have a higher score. When it comes to films that have been on MST, you really have to take the ratings with a grain of salt.

Who owns The Devil's Rain? Scream could re-license Kingdom of the Spiders and put the two in a Shitty Shatner double feature.

Ah that explains why Squirm has 4.2

I thought it surely couldn't be that bad
