Dead Souls also has a 4.7

Edit: Halloween III: Season of the Witch has a 4.2. Way too low imo.

Edit 2: Ninja III: The Domination has a 3.9

Edit 3: X-Ray has a 4.5 and Schizoid has a 4.3.

Edit 4: Scanners III has a 3.9

Those IMDB ratings mean nothing. Take them with a grain of salt.

Eve Of Destruction is far superior to The Video Dead... it's a fun movie and I welcome getting it..

This is one of those films where the IMDB rating isn't really indicative of anything other than there not being any sort of general consensus about the film's quality. A lot of people hated it, a lot of people were indifferent and quite a few people liked or loved it.

It's too bad IMDB doesn't poll users about why they voted the way they voted. I'd be interested in knowing how many of the low scores were voted on the sole basis of Michael Myers not having a role in this film outside of appearing in a TV ad for the original film.

There is an alternative...

[Show spoiler]

...but apparently it doesn't sit well with the MPAA based on the way the gun is pointed.

I'm not sure which I like better.

My favorites so far are:

The Town that Dreaded Sundown
The Burning

But I have them all, it's like picking you favorite parent.

It is definitely a totally watchable transfer though. I never saw what netflix put up, but it sounds like night and day compared to that.

I didn't listen to the commentaries, but the 3 interviews included are fun, they're each about 15 min, but there is some nice stories about it. Adrienne is pretty funny - inadvertently - and Reggie Batts has some nice things to say, really cool to hear about his experience. And Len Wein has some interesting origins to speak of.
I should give the Craven commentary a spin, but I don't often listen to commentaries, there's so many movies to watch haha.

I'll post some screenshots today, but I'd say it looks similar to that, maybe brighter though.

I couldn't find the Ghosts of Mars thread, so I thought I would post in here about it. I watched it last night since I last saw it on DVD 8 years ago and what a terrible film! Terrible acting, terrible CGI and terrible sets. I am glad Carpenter realized he was "Burnt out". It wasn't worth the £2.99 I paid for it!

It gets better with age though, like much of Carpenter's work.

In two decades we'll see Amber Heard in THE WARD: W20 Twenty Years Later.

I actually liked both, The Ward and GoM.

Anyone see this from Arrow?
Looks great, but I'll stick with my trusty MGM one.

Over 10 years have past, hasn't gotten any better. Directors just lose their touch...

There aren't any directors that are always right on. Even the best have miss fires. Nobody is perfect.

I have also heard that the initial plan was for the prisoner in the back of the train to be Snake Plissken, and that Carpenter lost a lot of his steam on the project when Sony wasn't interested in that.

wow i cant believe that Halloween III has such a low IMDB rating. if you ask me part 3 is the 2nd best movie in the series.

so for the guy who asked for some recommendations for scream factory titles I would highly recommend

Halloween III
The Burning
Terror Train
The Howling
