They're still Scream titles, its just yet another one of their famous misprints.

I know I was thinking that too, its so ridiculous that they don't carry them at almost every store. I think they would sell just fine yet for some reason best buy (especially the one near me) has the worst horror selection ever. They are starting to have a terrible selection of every other genre now too it seems, the other day I wanted to pick up Apocalypto which should definitely be there but of course they don't stock it in store. Why even have a movie section if all your gonna have is 20 copies each of something like disaster movie and then have nothing that anyone legitimately wants to buy. And then half the time I walk over to customer service to ask them to order something for me the girl will make a clucking sound with her tongue and act like I'm doing her a disservice for wanting to spend money in their store.

EDIT - And forgive me but what kind of movie is "Q" anyway? Does it belong more with "Scream" than "Shout!"? Face value always told me it was some kind of fantasy film but what is it really?
I am disappointed too with the special features on the double feature to be honest, but that's fine, of course I mainly wanted the films, Obvioisly I'll give the interviews a go and see what they say.

As for Q, that's hilarious! I always thought it was a fantasy too haha, until scream announced it earlier this year I never intended to see it because the cover always turned me away, I think specifically the large fantasy-esque "Q". Then people were saying what a great horror it was and I actually read the plot and felt very silly for having not given it a closer look. I usually just saw the cover in the Blue Underground catalog so it was easy for my eyes to just scan over it. So I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

It is quite a shame that the Horror section is so lame at BB. They have like 2 rows of comedy crap, but only 1 set of shelves for Horror. My only outlets locally for movies are Best Buy, Vintage Stock, Target, Walmart and FYE. What has surprised me lately is that Target has been beating BB on some new release prices. If I had the time and funds I would start my own store and it would have mostly horror. Take that BB!

I can't believe anyone still shops at BB, Amazon beats them on price almost every time and it's delivered right to your door.

You can't beat that.

We know Cliff is a fan of films like Audition and other Japanese Horror films, so any chance they could seal a deal with Dreamworks and grab the holy grail of J-Horror Ringu: Anthology and the Casper Trilogy for Shout!

Dreamworks has some other horror films as well, Japanese and otherwise.

I believe that much of the Dreamworks catalog is with Warner through the Paramount Catalog.

My BB sounds like yours rrpmp, it's a joke.

Best Buy is great, at least that is the nostalgia in me talking. I remember going there when most of the store was seemingly music cds in every aisle. Had tons of movies. Now it's a shell of it's former self. The music cds are crammed into one tiny aisle, and the movie selection is an absolute joke unless you're looking for the top billed studio releases. The horror section I could literally grab in both arms.

I'll go by there tomorrow to see if they have The Fog and some others but will expect to be let down as usual. It's rarely worth the trip, but my Walmart and Target don't stock much either.

Dreamworks hasn't been affiliated with Paramount since 2008.

On March 17, 2006, Paramount agreed to sell a controlling interest in the DreamWorks live-action library (pre-September 16, 2005; DW Funding, LLC) to Soros Strategic Partners and Dune Entertainment II. The film library is valued at $900*million...
Although they are now, again, owned by the same parent company, Viacom, but aren't part of Paramount Pictures, so Paramount doesn't seem to control their Library.

Yes, they do when you order it in-store or over the phone. I Price Match to Amazon regularly from them. And the Free Shipping on every order of any size is a plus.

And they have most Scream Titles under 20$ around release date.

They also have a warehouse near me, so I get them almost immediately... But before they placed a warehouse so close, they never took long on the free shipping.

Best Buy is by far the only big chain that has a wide selection of older/cult in-store titles, even if they have been dramatically reduced in recent years.

My 4 Walmarts do not have nearly as many as my Best Buy, neither do the 3 Targets in my city or the Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, or the six freakin Kmarts. Why do we have so many Kmarts!? Who goes to Kmart??

Oh wow, I didn't know that. Thanks. Yeah because in the past I have wanted to order for example just 1 blue underground title and from best but they are like $25 but many times on Amazon they are around $15 but then you don't get the free shipping. Good to know.

I just noticed several titles (Small Soldiers, Sweeney Todd) on Warner's site.

Man a lot of people love Audition, Tarantino, Roth, Cliff, etc. but I never understood the love for the film. Even the ending I don't find as brutal and awesome as everyone else seems too Must just not be my cup of tea.

Other than the logo misprint, I also find it interesting that the IMM spine doesn't really match the layout of the other Scream titles (ie the lack of an image at the top). I'll upload a pic later (unless someone else does it)

Its very possible that somehow they did get the Dreamworks catalog when they made the Paramount deal, but I think it also possible that Paramount has had 'reclaim' some specific rights all along since the the time they actually did own Dreamworks, themselves.

But Paramount only controlled their Live Action division, and viacom is the parent company of both, but why would one library fall into anothers, unless Paramount 'reclaimed' the rights to the live action films that were made by dreamworks during the time that they owned it? Or even before?

So...
Last night, I had a Joe Dante triple feature of Gremlins 2, The Howling, and The 'burbs. I just cannot see how anyone can dislike one of his films. The transformation scene in Howling did go on for a while, but it didn't lessen my enjoyment. I hope Shout can get 'burbs in the future if only to make the scenes in the Klopek house a little less grainy.
This session also taught me that Robert Picardo is and will always be awesome.
