For a studio that hints at being full to the brim with upcoming releases in 2014 I find them oddly silent.

After all the complaining about the July announcements, I don't blame them for halting the hype machine

Perhaps Friday Announcements will return tomorrow? Probably not but I can always hope.

I am beginning to think this as well. Haven't heard much from Cliff 'round these parts recently either...

You want them to start announcing blu-rays for January, already?

Fair point. However, they have already started announcing 2014 releases with Cat People and Nightbreed... why stop now?

The Friday announcements were great but at the same time, I think the surprise announcements make the waiting game a little more exciting.

You can't blame the guy. They obviously put a lot of time and effort into releases and instead of just being grateful, people complain because their favorite obscure movie from the 1970's isn't being released. Or the picture quality isn't perfect. I for one am just EXTREMELY grateful that anyone is taking the time to release these films that have been overlooked or downright ignored by the big studios who produced them but now seem ashamed of them. Scream could release every horror film that was ever made and someone would complain that there was a scratch in frame 187365 of 1002999387. Thank you Scream Factory for all the hard work you do. Most of us appreciate everything that you do. Peace out.

Oh no. I don't. I liked the guessing game that came from the Friday announcements.

I'm guessing he's waiting for the Bruce Lee maelstrom to die down. He knows if he posts anything at all, he will be immediately bombarded with a hundred questions/complaints about the box set.

I didn't know there was a problem. Then again, I'm not a Bruce Lee fan.

Seems like it's pretty much ran it's course. Kind of a bummer as I was looking forward to that set. Hopefully Cliff will address it, in thorough detail, when/if he is able to.
Going forward, I hope this doesn't become standard practice with Scream/Shout as I have several of their releases preordered...and will be adding to that total when the SDCC titles become available for preorder.

So far, I believe (haven't really been following closely) it's just been the Fortune Star masters, which are all for kung-fu movies, so I wouldn't worry about any of the Scream discs.

Yes. There should be a poll for whether or not they should come back. I'm guessing that the votes will be in favor of the return.

I thought they stopped the Friday announcements due to all the negativity here and on Facebook? Can't see why they'd start them up again if that were the reason.

I don't recall any negativity, but I didn't frequent this forum until the Super 6, after the last announcements. Clearly people miss them, but I can see why they would shy away. Like I and many others have said, people were way too negative after the SDCC announcements (myself included on the DVD thread).

Majority of this thread is posts related to people's anticipation of the upcoming Friday.

I miss it.

If you call wanting Pumpkinhead, The Car, Shocker, The People Under the Stairs, Fright Night Part 2, and Psycho 4 "obscure"

Ill grant that Without Warning is a little more obscure but I bet more fans would rather have that movie or Pumkinhead , etc etc than Eve of Destruction, Cat People and Saturn 3 anytime, any day and twice on Sundays !

At least Scream releases titles that appeal to the many / they have at least released a good variety of titles, some we will like, some we will not.
