of 1986 had sold MGM back to Kerkorian minus the pre-May 1986 MGM film library. The film library went to Warner in October 1996 when Turner Broadcasting System merged with Time Warner.

The more I see the Vincent Price set, the more I want it. Still a bit pricey. Any chance it will go down in price overtime, or is it one of those types of sets (Like the Universal Monsters Collection) that won't be dropping much, if at all?
I think it'll drop just give it time. I preordered it from AMZ to lock it in and when it drops it'll reflect that.

That's not a bad idea. I think I remember it hitting $55 at one point, should have jumped on that at the time. Looks like it's another case of the waiting game.

If you order from ImportCDs, (preorder is available a month before hand), its $46 at the moment, which for the amount of movies I think is a fantastic deal!

Also they have the Amityville Horror collection for $40

Don't know if it's been mentioned elsewhere, but Dark Angel actually has the US title, I Come In Peace, on the print. I guess that's why SF have given it a reversible sleeve with the US poster/title on the back. Curious now why they've elected to promote the release with the (original) Dark Angel title.

Not Scream related, but in case anyone missed, Synapse is releasing 'Manos: The Hands of Fate' on BD, the restored print from the kickstarter project!

I believe they HAD TO release it such as contractually because MGM licenses the film worldwide under DARK ANGEL.

I may be in the minority here, but I'm disappointed they used a print with the title ICIP.

Curious to know if they used the U.S. theatrical materials from Triumph Films or if they reinserted the main title shot with the "I COME IN PEACE" title font...

Now that's two Dolph releases Shout came close from being perfect...

Depends where you're from...it's perfect for me as I have always known it as I Come in Peace.

I could care less, its the same film, so what if they used one shot on the main titles differently??

Its the same movie, and I've always known it to be ICIP, but if they used a print of Dark Angel, with that title, I still wouldn't care. Its not because "I don't appreciate the value of international cinematic differences", its because its the same damn movie.

Lol.

Yeah I agree but you know how people are, just read the Friday the 13th thread. Film lovers are a picky bunch especially if it's a film they really like.

You can say that again! I throw myself right in with the rest of them though.

That's right, there's a Proust's "episode of the madeleine" factor and for me it's about having the closest version to my theatrical experience (saw it 3 times in French cinemas back in June 1990).

Yeah it's all how you are conntected to a film...for me I saw I Come in Peace at least 10 times on HBO and on VHS back in the day so it's nostalgia for me with that title as Dark Angel is for you.

For region-free fans of People Under the Stairs, a potential Scream candidate, Arrow will be releasing it later in 2013, along with The Long Goodbye and what appears to be a steelbook of Big Trouble in Little China. Cover art here.

I don't want to hijack the Scream thread but I gotta say Arrow is doing some exciting stuff. I assume all of these Fox and MGM titles they're releasing will have new remasters but even if they're recycled transfers, the extras and special packaging is more than enough to entice me. I was never completely satisfied with the MGM Blu of Invasion of the Body Snatchers so that steel will be mine.
