I still wish that Silent Night, Deadly Night would get the Scream Factory treatment. Lord knows Anchor Bay won't do anything other than the same old dated DVD re-release every so often.

There was so much controversy with this movie upon its release and still holds up as one of the best examples of the 80's slasher. I would love to see a snazzy new artwork slipcover for it as only Scream Factory can do. This is of course wishful thinking and will more than likely not happen but just wanted to throw it out there again.

And he 'nixed' the sequels way back in 2012.

Anything's possible now.
The list is far from set in stone.

A Scream Factory SE of Silent Night, Deadly Night would be amazing. Can you imagine all the intriguing material--interviews, commentaries, documentaries--they could put on that one? And one of their specially made cover arts would be a dream come true.

Id get SNDN 1 & 2 if Scream released them uncut / unrated etc - I just watched the first 3 from the series, I just added parts 1 & 2 to my shelf. The first one was great, I also liked part 2 despite 40 minutes of part one being rehashed... 3 ugh
I can see Cliff getting this only if its in their budget and if Anchor Bay does not want too much money for it
My rankings from SNDN
Part 1 - superb
Part 2 - very good !

Part 3 meh (yep the distant third!)

I doubt it ever happens, but my fantasy cover would be "Santa" in front of a fireplace, next to a tree, body parts in the stockings and his bag of presents dripping blood, as he holds an axe. And a severed head brightly lit on top of the tree with eyeball ornaments.

I think that would be awesome. But that just my taste lol.

I have not been following this thread fully but do check in and read bits and pieces. I own 4 Scream Factory movies and all 4 have cardboard slips. All the ones I have seen do except for 'Sundown'. Is that the only one issued without a cardboard slipcover?

Amazon just sent me a shipment confirmation for the All Night Horror Marathon with Schizoid, Godsend, The Vagrant, and The Outing. I thought this release was pushed back to October with Schizoid replaced with something else? I left my pre-order in because I thought it would automatically get corrected on Amazon. Anyone else get a shipment confirmation?

They replaced Schizoid with What's the Matter Helen?, but I canceled mine already, so odds are you'll probably receive the corrected version.

Although I bet they didn't throw away all those copies of the Schioid version, maybe some of the saff took home a few copies

Its not a Collector's Edition.
Only the CE with new art have slipcovers, in addition to the brand-new films.

Yeah, but would Amazon already have the corrected version when it doesn't come out in October? Maybe they did receive some of the original versions and accidentally shipped them? Well, it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow, so I guess I'll find out what it is when it arrives.

Thanks.
I guess my Swamp Thing and Melting Man will not have them then.

I'm waiting on one of these to hopefully show up too! I couldn't care less for either Schizoid OR What's the Matter with Helen but the opportunity to scoop something rare for the same $10 was too tempting! Worst case, I recieve the corrected version a few months early I figure.

Yup, I scored a copy of the recalled Horror marathon as well from a seller as Amazon made the listing unavailable so I think a few of us will be fortunate enough to have a rare piece of Scream Factory merc.

You should see the completely bonkers part 4 and 5. Neither of which is that good as they completely abandon the killer Santa routine.

Anyways, right there with you on parts 1 and 2. I love the first one. I've watched it more than any other movie. Been watching it every Christmas since it debuted on VHS in 1985.

I know the unrated footage is of a lesser quality but just to have in on Blu-Ray with the features that Scream Factory (or even Arrow UK) could do would be quite possibly the best release of a title on Blu-Ray for me. Previously it was Halloween III: Season of the Witch. A title I never dreamed would be in HD on Blu-Ray. So...... please Cliff and the powers that be at Scream Factory....

as Captain Picard would so eloquently say, "make it so"

Can I say, off topic, that Vinegar Syndrome's release of Good Luck, Miss Wyckoff is amazing. I recommend anything they're putting out.

They're doing some more horror later this year on dvd and blu-ray. Like Vampire Hookers, The Thirsty Dead, Night Train to Terror, and some teased Bigfoot films. Definitely check them out, here's the link to the VinSyn Thread.

3, 4, and 5 are no-gos. They are Lionsgate.

but are 1 and 2 at all possibilities? Would Anchor Bay sell the rights? I can't possibly see this title not doing well. Especially with the remake last year and the re-release of the OOP DVD of parts 1 and 2 via Anchor Bay.

On those beginning promo's on Arrow's Blu-Rays there are clips of their movies and one of them is SNDN. Even that small couple of seconds on the promo is in 1080p so come on someone! Just release the damn thing already.

I believe Hell Night is with Paramount, now Warner .

They're releasing a dvd of Fade to Black too, so we can rule out both of those, most likely, as being part of Scream's 2014 schedule. Which sucks.

Anchor Bay doesnt own Silent Night, Deadly Night, the seem to have a deal with the rightsholder to distribute them exclusively in the US.
If they did they still wouldn't, as they just released them both on DVD yet again this past December.
