Accidentally posted this in the Scream Factory thread instead of the Shout Factory thread. Sorry!

I think we'll be seeing more slashers in 2014.

Any guesses?

Maybe they'll snap up New Year's Evil, To All A Goodnight, and Savage Weekend. All of which Cliff says are MGM, so maybe we can get some non-bootlegs (or dvd-rs)!

Yeah, if I recall, To All A Goodnight was bought by MGM at AFM a few years back. I remember thinking it was really random that they picked that one up.

The Media Home Entertainment VHS was way too dark. A lot of Media VHS releases were, but it's difficult to tell what's going on in To All A Goodnight for most of its running time.

Would be nice to see a proper transfer on DVD or Blu.

They're definitely all possibilities since MGM owns them. That being said, they're all so unbelievably bad and not even in a good way. The best one of the bunch is New Year's Evil and that's not saying much. I really don't get all the love the movie gets from horror fans.

Slasher movies don't have to be good...
They're Slasher movies!

And I'd kill for these on blu-ray. They're criminally messy, and need to be dolled up.

When you buy a scream collectors edition on Bestbuy.com does it come with the slipcover? Does anyone know? I'm trying to decide between Swamp Thing and Prison.

Best Buy always sends me slipcovers.

But, Swamp Thing isn't a collector's Edition so it won't come with one.
I'd go with Prison it's phenomenal, couldn't believe I had never seen it before.

I thought New Year's Evil was pretty good, enjoyable and fairly well made. I would like to see a blu and would pick it up. I have seen To All A Goodnight mainly because there are no good releases of it but would definitely like to check it out.

So I just watched the movie Alligator last night(the one with Robert Forster not Sergio Martino's) I thought it was a pretty solid flick. Do the right still lie with Lionsgate who put out the DVD some years back that is now out of print?
Also how is the Martino one to anyone who has seen that one?

Yep its still with them. Its a perfectly satisfactory DVD presentation actually. There is a Blu Ray ( Germany) that has Alligator 1 and 2 on it

I believe that it is still with Lionsgate. I believe that MGM has the second one, though.

Jeff (SF Marketing Director/ Facebook guy)
Said at CCSD that he wanted to get Alligator really bad for the Scream line.

No mention of Alligator 2, maybe because they already grabbed it, and the yearning for part 1 is because they ended up only getting the sequel... :shrugs:

Its a long shot, but who knows. Lol.

Demon Seed is WB. Burnt Offerings was denied. The Sentinel is still a possibility.

At least that could have a Dee Wallace interview for the features. She's no stranger.

If Blu-Ray.com's runtime is accurate (177 minutes), one or both of the films appear to be cut since Alligator was a 91 minute film and Alligator II: The Mutation was 92 minutes.

Alligator II was a New Line Cinema film, so that would probably mean Warner Brothers has the rights.

It seems like every German/Italian genre release is cut, interlaced and/or an upconvert...
