Default Slipcovers

Just a heads up regarding slipcovers. Placed a order on Amazon for The Fog, Prison, Phantasm 2, The Howling, The Burning, Terror Train, The Funhouse and From Beyond and all turned up with slipcovers

Which is why I don't like to import and only do so if it's from a legit company like Arrow or Second Sight. I've bought a lot of stuff that was barely above VHS level (Angst aka Final Terror, Lenzi's Eyeball, The Sect, are examples). Just very mediocre stuff.

Speaking of second sight...where can you get The Brood at a reasonable price?

Criterion will be putting it out soon.

If you can wait a few months, I'm sure it'll be worth it.

Well I hope Criterion puts it out in a few months too but it could be awhile in reality...people have been waiting on Eraserhead for like 2 years now.

Hopefully they announce Scanners soon, too, since Scream Factory's double feature comes out next month.

Just like with SCANNERS, whoever comes out with THE BROOD first (Criterion vs. Second Sight) that's who will get my money. I would prefer Criterion but there's no official news and they're running out of months for announcements.

That is how I feel, that is why I grabbed Second Sights The Scanners steelbook. Got that direct from Amazon UK but The Brood they do not have on there for some reason(except for third party sellers which jacks up the shipping too high).

Rue Morgue's latest podcast features an interview with Michael Felsher - the dude that does a lot of the Scream Factory extras.

Check it out. It's pretty good:

Well, considering that Scanners was teased in their 2013 teaser picture, I kind of doubt they'd hold it over until 2014.

Also, Scanners, The Brood and Eraserhead are (as of right now) probably the most anticipated 2013 releases from Criterion. Thusly, they'll probably sell well so it's believed that Criterion is holding onto them for a holiday release: either November or December.

...Now back to your regularly scheduled Scream Factory discussion...

I can't decide on one must own title. The only ones I have are Halloween 2&3.

The Howling is the easily the best film they've released so far in terms of cast, direction, script, and FX.

Hasn't THE BROOD already been released?

I've actually never seen the second but enjoyed the first!

DVDTalk gives the Howling the recommendation of collector series. Seems like I can't go wrong. How does it compare to Phantasm 2?
