Would you believe it's only been three weeks since the Comic-Con announcements?

Comic Con felt like an empty promise.

I'm still waiting for the goodies. Lol.

Me too. I get what they were going for, but I want a big one to be announced for the 1st Quarter soon.

Seriously though.
Synapse blew most of us away the day before with Curtains and Prom Night. And even since they have also announced Manos: The Hands of Fate as well as Thundercrack! which makes matters worse.

Vinegar Syndrome has announced Night Train to Terror and Runaway Nightmare and also teased at 2 Bigfoot films.

Scorpion also just announced The House on Sorority Row, so many other company's announcements have held me over... But come on Scream, blow me away!

I don't think they're in a competition with those companies. SF is doing their own thing and it seems to be working.

Anyone know why all the collector's editions, including recent releases and pre-orders now have pics without slipcovers?

A) I never said they were in competition with anyone. I just stated that other companies have announced plenty of horror titles since comic con.

B) BUT THEY ARE...

They're the same type of company selling the same type of product.
I'd say that means they're in competition over which customers buy what over another product.

Some people can't be everything and have to pick and chose when it comes to what they get. Those people might pick Tower of Evil or The Massage Parlor Murders over, say, Vampire Lovers or Ninja III.

Scream may be the most popular, at least that's an inferrence, but that doesn't mean they stopped having competitors. Not evil companies sneaking around behind their backs, but friendly competition. It the same for every type of market.

They use a template with the blu-ray case, not the slipcover.

Its all a digital image created from scanning the art, and putting it inside the boundaries of a blu-ray template.

Rest assured, they'll still continue to have slipcovers...

If you could pick five horror titles for Criterion to pick up that Scream Factory probably could not, what would they be?

My choices:
-Suspiria
-The Wicker Man
-Phantasm
-The Ninth Configuration
-Dawn of the Dead
