I truly love FRIGHT NIGHT PART 2 but I'm going to assume its never coming out till its officially announced. Thats a title that just hurts to get my hopes up for and then get them knocked down. I was lucky enough to catch the film twice on the original release and I would be a very happy man if Scream did there magic with it.

At this point, I'm with you. It's a see it and believe it title. At this point, I'm positive that it will be Sleepaway Camp CE and a double of 2&3.

I saw the technical spec weren't all that bad for a catalog release of it's stature, but how does the film hold up? Fairly entertaining? One and done kind of viewing or does it have some replay value? It's got a good director, and some famous cameos. Let me hear what you think.

Not to burst your bubble, but it probably (although it isn't impossible) won't be Pumpkinhead. I just can't see MGM dealing out only 1-2 titles in a deal.

I mentioned this on the Shout thread, but I'll repost it here. How would you guys feel about Shout! Factory getting some Coen Brothers titles?
I could see Fox and Universal giving them Barton Fink and The Man Who Wasn't There as part of a deal.

If I think rationally that makes sense but what if they made a deal for 2 of MGMs headliner movies ?

Wait and see time, its all speculative... I guess we will find out if our definition of three popular titles match what Cliff and Jeff's definition.
Well its not going to be Eve of Destruction at least lol

I still think it'll be a box set of the Sleepaway Camp trilogy. Or maybe CEs. Or a CE and a double feature.

The last thing anyone wants is for TT to get Fright Night 2. I have the original from them and lets be honest if they got Fright Night 2 scalpers would be all over that and most fans wouldn't even have a shot.

Does anybody here think that all of the companies, here in the US, could forge together for the common fan and release a box set of a director's whole filmography? I think that the perfect candidates for this would be the Coen Brothers. Just asking out of curiosity, though.

Seems really unlikely to me. If the studios don't release those titles themselves, they'll go to Criterion.

This happened for Oliver Stone on DVD. Seems like the only studio with the pull power to make this happen is Warner Bros., and Warner Bros. isn't going to do it as they only own one film, one that they didn't think would be a big enough seller for a retail Blu-Ray. Worse, since Warner does control one title, there's no way anyone else can make it happen either.

Two Coen films. True Grit was in the deal with Paramount. Otherwise, yeah. They're almost there with Tim Burton, though. All they need are the Disney/Touchstone and 20th Century Fox stuff.

A Spielberg Collection would be sweet.

Warner also needs to get started on a Joe Dante Collection (Gremlins 1&2, Explorers, Twilight Zone, Looney Toons, Small Soldiers, Innerspace).

The Tarantino XX collection came close. The only one missing is Django Unchained.

When do the Twilight Time rights expire for the original Fright Night? It would be great if Scream could get the rights to Fright Night 1 & 2 and do these two 80's horror classics the justice they rightfully deserve.
