Really, the only thing I like about it is the Tim Roth thread; the scene of him telling the drug dog story is the best part of the film.
I thought that Pulp Fiction was only okay. And that Dogs was a great improvement. I plan on watching Kill Bill and Django soon.
That scene with Nice Guy, Vic Vega, and Joe was pretty bad though.

You haven't been paying attention. The fact is, is that there's quite a few people NOT receiving slips with their collectors editions. Scream has said they're not limited which means retailers are just starting to throw them away. IMO scream should start putting the wrapping OVER the slips like Olive does so it cannot be thrown away. They're aware of the importance these slipcovers have to the fans and its just causing trouble that they're being thrown away.

Easy solution is to pre-order them and you're almost guaranteed to get one with a slip. They rarely drop below $20 and when they do, it's usually ages later and the drop is only $15 or $16 at lowest usually. The usual $20 pre-order price is a small price to pay if you care about getting a slipcover.

For the record, Cliff said once or twice that they weren't limited and that was awhile ago...

And that doesn't prove stores are throwing them away, or pre-ordered copies and early bought copies wouldn't have them either

Barnes and Noble is the only store that deliberately throws ALL excess packaging, including slipcovers, away.

Its more likely that they just aren't getting them past the first couple shipments.

If they were throwing them away, NO ONE period, would be getting them...

Twilight Time has the option to renew the rights. Word is they've already renewed the rights to all their sold out titles except NOTLD and will be re-releasing another batch of 3000 when their 3-year window is up.

I would hope they didn't release more of the smurf version of NOTLD

Twilight Time didn't exactly like the master either. They had to use what they were given (according to Film Score Monthly, a sister company of Screen Archives).

Anyway, I'd like to see Scream Factory do a double feature disc of The Addiction and Nadja. The Addiction's never been released on DVD or Blu-ray and since both films were released so close apart (and were filmed in black and white), I think that the two would go great together.

I believe Duel is coming soon, a theatrical 2K DCP exists and is showing places

As for Tarantino movies, I'm quite unpopular because of my ranking of them :P

Kill Bill
Jackie Brown
Reservoir Dogs
Death Proof
Inglorious Basterds
Pulp Fiction
Django Unchained

The entire Bruce Willis section of pulp fiction need to go in my opinion, and the period price setting of Django want utilizied enough, with the dialogue heavy scenes lacking that usual Tarantino-ness, and the over the top squibs and the dog scene were way too much.

Fright night looks and sounds awsome on blu ray its one of my fav transfers to an 80's horror film.

If they rerelease their sold out titles when their 3-year window is up, a lot of people are going to be p*ssed so it goes against their entire claim of "only 3000 copies."

I was talking about Night of the Living Dead. I probably should have quoted the previous post when I said that.

I imagine it will be kind of like their (now-closed) Film Score Monthly album division in that they sell out the first pressing but if demand is strong, they will do a limited second pressing (this happened with the Superman box and The Wild Bunch).

When they did issue additional pressings there, it was more of a sigh of relief (and soundtrack buffs are just as rabid, if not more, than horror buffs). I don't expect a huge amount of backlash if a second pressing happens (though there will be a select few who will complain for the sake of complaining).

So really, in regards to the titles you listed, it's almost certain that nothing is going to happen in relation to Shout and those titles being released on BD.
Sure, you're probably 100% right. Except Criterion said the same about WB right up until... they made a deal.

Nothing is impossible in business. It just takes the right confluence of circumstances. Some profit is better than none.

But yeah - I'm not holding my breath. I just get more excited by these near-impossibilities than SLEEPAWAY CAMP or PUMPKINHEAD.

The only people that will complain are the ones that are p*ssed that they didn't sell their copy when they could for max profit (Who cares, scalper) or they really don't care about the film in the first place (everyone should have a chance to own it). So basically not worried about what they think.

They didn't "make a deal" with WB...

Criterion got the director of the one they released to plead with them to hand over his film.

Criterion got one title (or maybe two?) from WB. That was huge, cause WB really, really doesn't like to license stuff out. Not only that, but WB is pretty much the only major left still releasing catalog blu-rays on a regular basis.

We know SF has a nice rapport with Universal, Fox, and MGM--but outside of that, we can pretty much rule out any movies from the other majors/mini-majors.

Anyway, I'm actually more concerned that you're not a fan of Sleepaway Camp...
