I agree. I haven't seen it, but I haven't heard the greatest things about it. There are much better films I'm sure that need to come to Blu-ray, preferably from Scream, but I think people really want this because it only had a short run on DVD and has been long OOP, selling in the hundreds. Plus, like you mentioned, many want it to have it to complete their Fright Night collection. With the Twilight release of the first film, the remake, and now the remake of part 2 all in the past few years, Fright Night is on a lot of people's minds, so naturally we want when we can't have. I hope they release it just so it gets it OOP and so I can finally see it and decide for myself if it lives up to the hype. Plus it will be nice to complete my Fright Night collection.

Without Warning is another title that I haven't seen but have heard mixed things about, but because it's never been released on DVD it's one of the most highly sought after title.

My biggest want besides Hell Night, Phantasm, and the Sleepaway Camp series is a made for TV movie called Midnight Hour. I haven't seen it but have heard decent things. It's probably not the greatest movie though, although I am a sucker for movies that take place on Halloween and have costumes and all that, but because it's been OOP for almost a decade now and the lone DVD sells for hundreds, I really want Scream to release it!

I'd much rather it be the way it is. NOTD is more well known and popular than Witchboard, so it makes sense.
Well that's kind of why it would make a good double feature, they're both from the same director, and I've never seen "Witchboard" but love "Night of the Demons" therefore with a double feature it'd be a easier buy for someone like me.

You knew? I thought that you only knew the unannounced MGM titles.

Also, the other mystery title is totally Sleepaway Camp 1.

Nice pick-ups..... I'd love it if the mystery title, was cracking the tomb known as Anchor Bay to get the original Phantasm.

If they're cracking Anchor Bay, they're probably not stopping at Phantasm.

I feel the same way, I remembered renting the VHS back in the day and wasn't impressed, but I thought I should give it another watch and I found it on youtube in widescreen, the whole movie not like 11 different parts (see link below)

It was better than I remembered but still no where near as good as the original.

I knew about "Demons", just wasn't sure when the announcement was going to drop. Honestly though, I have no clue about "Sleepaway Camp" but I certainly am hoping for it!

FRIGHT NIGHT PART II has been in demand by fans for YEARS. The Artisan/Lionsgate old DVD is a crap P&S transfer and, regardless, has always fetched a good amount on the secondary market ever since it was released. The interest level has nothing to do with Twilight Time's BD coming out and selling out fast. This property has a real hardcore set of fans -- and they've never even gotten a proper widescreen release it of II in the U.S., ever.

Now, I grant you it's not a really good movie -- it's nowhere near the original -- and sure, there are "better" films Shout can release. Of course, you can also say it's a better movie than some of the films Shout HAS released...it's a matter of personal taste. However, because the distribution rights are associated with Lionsgate (in the same way they had THE WRAITH), I'm guessing it's probably out of Shout's realm at the moment, so the discussion is likely worthless since they can't get to it.

Funny thing with II is that it didn't even get a widespread national release in theaters because New Century/Vista (or whatever they were called) were on the way out. I was in 8th grade and wanted to see it so bad, but it never got a release in most of New England. When we went on vacation to the Cayman Islands in early '89, though, it WAS playing there! lol

Wow, your wants are really the same as mine which just proves that this is what most probably want as well. I have the Anchor bay DVD of The Midnight Hour and I've always enjoyed it. I saw it when it originally aired as a Halloween movie of the week on (I think it was) ABC. It's cheesy but fun and I would love a new release since my DVD is getting pretty old. Maybe a double feature with something I don't have to justify a repurchase.

I'm very happy with these announcements. Neither film is classic cinema, but it's the kind of release that I want/expect from Scream. I will be purchasing both of these for sure. This is the direction I Like to see Scream go in... It's cool to pad out an announcement with a title or 2 from other genres (Darkman, Assault on precinct 13) but I'm never going to get excited about films like that when compared to the possibility of more 80's horror titles. Keep the announcements 90% Horror, 10% Everything else, and...

No Sleep Away Camp sequels?

I've never even heard of these two, but maybe they might be worth a blind buy.

Hopefully the other announcement waiting in the wings is Sleepaway Camp but I'm not holding my breath just yet.

I kind of wish I could see these movies for the first time again. If you dig 80's horror than you should appreciate both of these films. NOTD's is great fun and I have a soft spot for Witchboard. I love me some demonic chicanery in my 80's horror. \m/

Yep, never heard of it. Although, there are quite a bit of Scream Factory releases that I haven't heard of before either. But if it's as amazing as you guys say I'll pick it up when it's released. Thanks for the recommendation. Sounds like it's worth seeing.

You must be pretty young or new to horror if you never heard of them. They are both worth checking out if you're into 80's horror flicks.
