It is pretty awesome. The last rights holder was Blue Underground not sure who has it now or it is still with BU. I'd love to see them release a blu and support them, but whoever has it should release a blu.

The director has a pretty flawless track record as far as I'm concerned.

Scanned at 5K, mastered in 2K, if my translation is accurate.

It's been a while since I've watched it, but as I recall it's a very weird film with a pretty heavy dose of... ballet. The owl mask is definitely awesome.

Stagefright is one of my favorite slasher movies. It's hella gory and not only does it have 80's horror cheese, it also has ITALIAN 80's horror cheese. What's not to like?

I like film grain, but the grain in this film was kind of driving me a little nuts and seemed to make the PQ not so good. Was wondering what you guys thought of the release?
I watched my copy the other night and while nothing spectacular I thought it looked and sounded fine. For the brand new price on amazon of $13.99 it's totally worth it. Plus, the 25 minutes interview with director and stars is great.

I just watched Society for the first time at like 5am.
It was amazing. I had heard about it but, wow. It blew me away. Very alegorical too.

It was smart and stupid at the same time. And I mean that in the best way possible. I loved it.

Was it ever 100% confirmed that Synapse had The Kindred?

Great minds think alike. I have it coming from Netflix tonight!

I was going to check that out as well.

I'm excited for Night of the Demons and Witchboard's upcoming upgrade to high definition - two very enjoyable personal favorites. Reading ChrisMac87's comments on another forum concerning the former getting a completely uncut and, more importantly, fresh transfer, is big enough news to warrant the excitement IMO. Can't wait to see what SF comes up with for the artwork

StageFright is friggin' awesome! I wish it and The Church would get BD releases. Who knows if BU still has the rights, but I agree that Synapse would be perfect to deliver 'em!

I wish Scream could get their hands on some J-Horror.

I'm watching Ju-On: The Grudge 2 on NetFlix, and every time I start to watch any japanese horror film, I immediately ache for a nice blu-ray edition.

Pulse(Kairo) is by far my favorite, but the [b]Ringu[/u] and Ju-On movies are favorites too.

I've been through this before, but Cliff seems to dig J-Horror, so hopefully we'll see some one day.

Pre-ordered both. That's all of Scream's releases for 2013 up for pre-order now, yes?

The Vampire Lovers is proof they're willing to expand to foreign titles, so it may be only a matter of time.

Foreign horror (from the last decade+) in general is so poorly represented on BD, here in the US. It seems like so many titles go straight to DVD. The Weinstein Company and Lionsgate are likely the biggest culprits. But even Shout is guilty, since they couldn't be bothered to bring Cold Prey II to blu.

We need a Gamera Blu ray box set with the rest of the proposed August Rangone extras which were dropped on subsequent DVD releases.

But they did do justice on audition, although not too recent, definitely a modern classic.

I wouldn't use The Vampire Lovers as an example here. It wasn't filmed in a foreign language like most of the Italian and Japanese films that are being mentioned and didn't involve international licensing.

Herzog's Nosferatu is more comparable to the films being mentioned, but that's one of the few Scream Factory titles that will also appeal equally to non-horror, foreign film fans as well as horror fans due to being a Werner Herzog / Klaus Kinski film.

Audition would be a good pre-Scream Factory example. I'm not sure how successful that title was for Shout! Factory or how problematic a deal it was, though.
