I hope the extras are cool. It would be cool if the rock theme song "Bump In The Night" by Steel Breeze had it's own track on the disc.

It doesn't need to be a "collectors edition" (at least to me) as long as it has extras in my opinion and superior image quality. Collectors editions have just as many extras as some of their regular editions. It's really just a moniker. The only real difference is the slip cover which really means nothing to me if they do or don't

Really digging the "Cat People" cover. Very eerie vibe and I personally think the likenesses of the actors look great.

I'm thrilled whenever I see Blu-ray cover art that looks better than the 30th Anniversary Edition of National Lampoon's Vacation.

We should not set the bar too high for the young artists out there.

They should come up with reversible slipcovers using either magnet folds or some sort of velcro strip. Might be a little thicker overall and more pricey to manufacture but it could be pretty neat.

I'm kinda over the art now, part of me wishes they would just work on the releases features and concentrate on being great at that and not worry about the art or slip covers. Maybe if they skipped that part the money savings over the course of a year could buy a couple extra titles they could release.

As an artist myself, I tend to see the quality in all the Scream covers. Of course, I have my own nit-picky hang ups on certain details but overall I've always respected that change of style with each cover and trying new things.

I'm confused by some of the criticism about the Scream Factory practice of including comissioned artwork; sure it's fun to pick apart the designs... but it seems silly for people to outright against the value added newly produced art. Some of the designs might not be epic masterpieces but it's a lot of fun to see what they will come up with (even if mediocre) and I see the new artwork as a very fun perk.

NotD cover might not be my taste, Lifeforce cover might be plagarized, etc etc. Still, I'd had for Scream Factory to perceive there is a negative backlash because they made the extra effort of including a new art perk for some of their releases. Overall I see them as a great addition reflecting the type of bonus I wish more companies provided. They still provide the original poster art and most importantly packed content discs.

I think that the art is great, and it describes the film well, except for the horrific John Heard that might as well not be there. The only art that I have out and out disliked was Darkman. And, as I said, I think that the Night of the Demons artwork is the best since Halloween II and III.

Great post. Don't like the new artwork? Flip the cover and toss the slip. Problem solved.

If Scream really wanted to save money, just sell the disc only. No case, no artwork, just the disc in a paper sleeve with the title written in black Sharpie (they don't even need that). That'll save them a ton of money to potentially buy more titles. And who is going to buy a disc in paper sleeve for the same price as one that comes with a case, new artwork, and a slipcover? So the point is moot.

Who even said that? Nice to go way over the top with a comment.lol. No one said to go to that extreme or anything like that. After they all start looking very similar it just gets not as special. I would bet from cooments on these boards that at least 75% or more flip it over to original artowork anyway so whats the point. It is a cool thing to do and but you really want something special maybe they could come up with another gimmick to make it a collector's edition...something related to the movie. Heaven forbid you have an opinion on here without someone getting all hyper.

I don't. I like the original posters a lot, but I prefer the new artwork in most cases. The Howling, for one, is possibly the greatest poster done for a horror film, so I like the original art more.

The guy said that it would save Scream money if they stopped producing new art. Well, producing nothing but the disc would save a lot of money.

Kind of like how the Criterion covers all sort of look familiar right? This is essentially a collection, as all of these different releases are coming from a single distributor. It wouldn't make much sense if there wasn't any sort of consistent flow from movie to movie. Love the custom artwork or Hate it, it's been consistent throughout all the releases, and when viewed as a whole, really bring the individual movies together into a singular collection.

I like what Scorpion does, includes two original posters for the cover and reverse side. Usually movies have several poster designs, not to mention all the cool foreign designs.

No, except for the "C" logo IMO.

I thought you don't even buy these titles? You said you didn't have a blu-ray player a while back did you get in the game? I think there are maybe two titles that I like the new artwork enough to leave it...Halloween III, Prince of Darkness..otherwise eh. They all seem so similar..they need to be less busy I think and also stay away from doing likenesses. I'm not sure what else they could do as far as something special for a collector's edition but any ideas would be great.
