There is one ugly movie but I give you the green light

(I always hated this atrocious De Palma trash worthy movie)

...and in 1080i... Still it's worth it if you can find it. I picked up my copy for like $7 a couple months ago (brand new) on ebay.

The only 2 good movies in that group. Slither is not to bad so I guess for a popcorn flick you could throw that in.

Different tastes. I watched the first 3rd of Carrie several months ago and could just not get into it. I loved the book, and (despite hating remakes) I think that the new movie looks like a better adaptation (although Chloe Moretz is way too pretty to play Carrie White).

I'm not a fan either. I'm not a De Palma fan in general. The only two I've gotten all the way through were Snake Eyes (because Nic Cage is my favorite actor) and Phantom of the Paradise (it is one of my favorite movies).
I've tried to get through Carrie (1/3) and Blow Out (1/3).

No surprise here, those are 2 of my De Palma's favorites!

But, in the face of this criticism, I have to say that I like it. Art is supposed to be interpretive. If you want photo-realism, you can stick a photo on the cover. When an artist paints a cover, they are trying to capture something very ethereal and indefinable. Each artist has a different style and a different interpretation. And some people won't like it. I always say, "It's not good art if EVERYBODY likes it".

This art is stirring a reaction. I like that.
It's stirring something alright Kinda late now but would rather have had some sort of fan vote...they could have offered all the different versions of a particular movies original theater or media release art (even from other countries) and fans could have voted what two they wanted to use for the cover and reverse. Would have been a fun way to include fans in every special edition release and build hype towards the release. Just sayin. Nothing beats the original art...it's part of each films history.

That said, I was not a big fan of Snake Eyes... but at least I finished.

I've actually been trying to get Warner Bros. to release a 4 Film Favorites set for Nicolas Cage with
-Snake Eyes
-Matchstick Men
-Face/Off
-Next or Wicker Man

I'd take Next any time over Wicker Man which made me laugh (but not in a good way... the kung-fu scene between Sobieski and Cage at the end killed me)
And yeah Matchstick Men really deserves a BD release!!!
Also, Snake Eyes seems to be a great BD too, I'm looking forward to get my hands on this release

That's funny I happen to be watching The Rock as we speak. Love the sad-puppy dog-faced Cage.

They're some that spring to mind at least, for various reasons. I know people won't like this, but TT know horror titles sell big, so it's a strong probability they'll try and get some of these (that is, if Scream don't secretly have some of them already).

The Cat People cover art is very nice i say, i can't wait for Bad Dreams/Visiting Hours (i'll sell my old AB DVDs). Night of the Demons's art is very nice but still the original art is better and AWESOME to finally see another classic horror film on BD and i'm a Karloff fan.

Hate to break it to ya, but a box set will probably not happen anytime soon. Not only will you need Universal to release Mallrats in the states, but also need to get Lionsgate to license both it and Dogma (since Sony has that one, which is OOP, last I heard) for one big box set, which was never even released in the DVD era, let alone now.

In short, if you're waiting for that to materialize before you upgrade to Blu, you'll probably be waiting a while.

Dressed to Kill and Phantom of the Paradise are my two favorite De Palma's, and of course Carrie.

His new film Passion was great too.

But you should definitely see Dressed to Kill, very artsy at first but its basically a Tran-Slasher movie.

Anyone think scream might really have "Chopping Mall" after all, just like they said no to NOTD and then announced it.

Also, its gonna be slightly annoying(i said "slightly" people) that NOTD and Witchboard are from scream and the sequels are from Olive as i group my scream factory releases together.I wonder who will play me if they will make a film of this dilemma
