I'm beginning to feel that if Scream Factory secures any of the "Sleepaway Camp", we won't see an announcement until at least the winter in order to plan a spring/summer release date similar to "The Burning". Something like "Nightbreed" was announced with a very far estimated release timeframe simply due to all the restoration work being done to it, something like the "Sleepaway Camp" films wouldn't require as much heavy work I would imagine.

Man, September is going to be EXPENSIVE.

Already bought Lords of Salem, and plan on getting Cockneys VS Zombies, A Bay of Blood, Scanners II/III, Carrie, the Friday the 13th Collection, Crystal Lake Memories, World War Z, Day of the Dead, Hannibal Season One, Prince of Darkness, Dracula: Prince of Darkness, The East, The Devil Bat, Halloween, Psycho II/III, Room 237, and V/H/S II.

And that's only the horror titles!

I'm thinking it's going to be Creature aka Titan Find. The director is shopping for a distributor.

That's probably my alternate guess.

If I were given the option between my two guesses, Titan Find and Society, I would rather have Society.

What about The Kindred, did Synapse's plans fall through?

Kiss of the Damned was boring. A huge letdown from Xan Cassavetes (who previously did Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession, one of the best film documentaries of the last decade).

I agree - Kiss of The Damned is a very well made film, with beautiful cinematography and a great cast, but it was slow moving and I had to watch it in installments to get through it.

I was also disappointed in the Maniac reboot - I was actually impressed by Elijah Wood, as he gave a credible performance in the role, but for me the film just lacked any trace of suspense or sense of dread, which is crucial in a horror film. The original is much better IMO.

Who knows? The Kindred has been in Synapse's works since 2006, at least. I'll be surprised if it ever sees the light of day at this point. That being said, it's not unusual for Synapse to announce a title and then not release it for literally years after the fact.

They still have the rights and have been actively trying to release it. Unfortunately they're in a middle of a lawsuit which is blocking the release.

They may have 2 now. They definitely have 3.

I asked a year or so ago about Stepfather part II and Synapse said there wasn't an HD master.

I won't lose any sleep if Stepfather 3 isn't released on ANY format - it's a terrible film. I imagine the completists out there will want it, maybe it'll come out eventually. Same goes for the third Witchboard. These movies suffer from"90's-itis"

That's why they should make one.

Wait... They only said that they didn't have Stepfather III. 2 is still possibly an option.

All this talk about De palma, and The Stepfather Series has me seriously hoping for another announcement soon as these past few pages are putting me to sleep. I'd take about anything over further discussions about these 2 topics...

Are you new?

This thread has been 90% random horror talk since the end of the Friday announcements last year. DePalma and all.

And the Stepfather topic isn't gonna stop popping up because of an announcement, as its potentially an upcoming title. Not a wild guess, but a genuine possibility.

Well, we did get a lot announcements: Night of the Demons, Witchboard, that awful Boris Karloff movie and not to mention the Bad Dreams/Visiting Hours double features...
