I had never heard of it until Scream Factory announced it, so it was a blind buy for me. I enjoyed it more after the first 30 minutes of watching it, and got used to the tone, but I guess I was expecting something different. I did prefer it over The Video Dead, which I thought started out really good, but then got really bad as it went on.

Great! Haven't seen either one, but I much prefer 50's and 60's horror to the 80's slashers, so I'm liking the recent announcements.

I'm actually very happy with this announcement. I've heard of Beast, but not Neanderthal Man. I'm a sucker for anything prehistoric related, so I'll definetly be picking these up at some point. Keep up the good work, Scream.

I wonder if we'll be seeing any other titles that recently showed up on a "Movies 4 You" DVD like The Neanderthal Man being bumped up to Blu-Ray.

This was a huge surprise. The Beast of Hollow Mountain was a Willis OBrien film that didn't go as planned. It wound up translating 100 times better in Ray Harryhausens Valley of Gwangi.

The Neanderthal Man is on the DVD with 3 other movies...I saw it too and yes its a guilty pleasure - the mask has zero expression on it - Monster on the Campus told the same story better...
Now Im hoping for the other ones to go HD
Imagine a Sidney Pink double feature with Angry Red Planet and Reptilicus !
Maybe there is hope for the older B movies to go HD ...
I pretty much dropped my jaw on this one...

this is very exciting news for me-- I love all those B-grade (and also A-grade) flicks from the 50's and 60's....

hoping for lots more of them with the MGM deal...

man i remember being so mad when i saw Beast of Hollow Mountain as a kid (my dad rented it for me when i as at the height of my Godzilla obsession) my young mind did not have the patience for the long wait before ever actually seeing the beast

Very cool to see "The Neanderthal Man" join the Scream Factory line-up! The recent "Movies 4 You: Sci-Fi Classics" DVD release from Shout Factory / Timeless Media was actually the first release of the film ever so seeing an upgrade to Blu-ray so quickly under the Scream line is terrific!

Not really my cup o'tea, but I'm happy about this release for two reasons:

1) Obviously other fans will appreciate this release
2) I like the diversity that SF is showing in their title acquisitions. This could lead to some great possibilities down the road, I hope.
