I don't believe Cliff ever commented on Night of the Demons during the time he had it, so that's an unfair comparison.

And THEY DO NOT AND CAN NOT GET House, Image has a long-term deal for it. Their aquisitions guy has a person relationship with the rightholders of all those Lakeshore films, and he will ALWAYS have them as a client.

No means No. Especially this time.

He's just speculating, but what he said about Image releasing House is likely to happen.

Cliff did mention that they had enough on their plate for 2014 in regards to "Night of the Demons", luckily things changed

Pumpkinhead is on Chiller.

Man, I forgot how awesome that movie was!
I hope Twilight Time didn't grab it up.

It looks great already and its held up great over the years, no one seems too "stereotypical".

Luckily.

I assumed they went back and got it and Witchboard when he saw the "uproar" for it.

* And I just saw a TV Commercial for the Scream Factory release of Cockneys Vs Zombies as type, and it had the Scream Logo. It was so surreal.

Like eating KFC while watching a KFC Commercial.

That's because you're open minded, I like that about you really.

Same reason most Frat Boys wouldnt wanna watch Ringu with you.
Its not their style of film, Final Destination 3 is.

Luckily for me, I'm young and can enjoy the best of every world of film.
There's not much that doesn't entertain me.
I understand but here's the thing, if a lot of the older titles from the 50's to the 70's even, flop on arrival; it would send a very dangerous message to the guys at Shout that the older titles will not sell and that would be very, very unfortunate if the Scream Factory stuck to one genre. Same case with the Non-Horror titles. I have an interest in the film Park Row, I would love to see a Shout Factory release of that movie but again, if the older titles don't sell, they'll be relegated to a specific thing and only that.

You've mentioned this before, and I'm a little curious. Just who is the acquisitions guy at Image that's dealing with Lakeshore and what has he done for them that has earned their unending trust and business? Likewise, is that account so lucrative for Image that they view them as a "keep at all costs" account? To date that deal is over two years old and has amounted to a handful of Blu-Rays and roughly two dozen budget DVDs.

I never would've thought Anchor Bay would've let Day of the Dead and, presumably, Dawn of the Dead go, since they'd had those titles since the Video Treasures days before they merged with Starmaker to form Anchor Bay, but that has happened in Day's case and, presumably, in Dawn's case as well.

Edit: Mistook Image for Mill Creek.

That's small potatoes compared to the Paramount/Warner Bros.-esque deal Image just struck with Sony a week or so ago.

He worked for Anchor Bay and when he moved and AB's rights to the Lakeshore catalog lapsed, he got them to go over to Image, where he now works. Lakeshore seems to be attached to him.

I think Cliff is the one who said it in here, might be wrong, maybe it was Walter Olsen or some other insider.

Don't know the "aquisitions guy"'s name though. I'm pretty sure it was mentioned on this forum or perhaps in a link to some article. I know I read it on blu-ray.com though.

Lol. Don't sweat it, its a miracle that (most of us) can keep up with these complex studio deals at all.

And if you're anything like me, I shudder to hear Image, Mill Creek, or Echo Bridge. Neither are anything special.

No...

Image's deal is with Lakeshore for Lakeshore titles (New World), not non-lakeshore films.

If Image puts out Godzilla 1985, Id bet it would be full frame, have only the Raymond Burr version and have no extras. Toho would approve since they never seem like to have their movies with many extras...their lawyers are tougher than Godzilla himself !

I'd be fine with just the Japanese version. And besides, Toho wouldn't approve of a full frame and English only release. Why do you think Echo Bridge had to obey Toho to give Godzilla vs. Biollante for good picture and sound quality?

Actually now that I think about it, if Shout were to release Godzilla under the Scream Factory, it'd probably be a potential big seller.

My dream version has the Raymond Burr version, the Japanese version and the International English dub version....
I think that would happen under a Shout Factory release, not so much Image...but you never know
