The HD version on Netflix looks pretty outstanding. It has been up there for probably more than a year now. I can't imagine there being much to improve upon.

Well, while that's a bummer that certainly narrows down my guess for tomorrow to simply just "The Video Dead". Can't wait to see what it is!

Have you looked into licensing it? Who currently has the rights anyway?

I'm curious about that myself, Artisan released it on DVD originally but these days... who knows?

Sad. I would have loved to have seen Rawhead Rex get similar treatment as Halloween III.

In other Scream Factory news, a poster asked them on Facebook about the transfer on "Death Valley" and SF responded with this:

"We did the transfer. Director commentary, theatrical trailer & TV spot. (Sorry, we asked Peter and Catherine and it didn't work out. Peter declined.) 1.78.1 OAR".

Very cool to see that a director commentary is being included since this isn't a Collector's Edition. I was expecting only a trailer at best. Very nice surprise!

Someone even mentioned American Werewolf in London, which a) had a collector's edition DVD, b) had a feature-length doc added to the extras for a re-release, and c) came out on Blu-Ray for that re-release.

EDIT: Man, I found the post I thought I made. It was 17 days ago, but it's 40 pages back. 40 pages!
Have you even seen the EFNY Blu. MGM put out a pretty good SE of it on DVD, but then released a Blu-ray with nothing but the film.

In my mind, that leaves a great opportunity for a better edition and I know Scream would do it justice if they were able to do it.

cmac, any chances of getting scene selections (either on the menu, or an insert) or the ability to resume a disc in future releases?

I had a feeling FN II wasnt on the agenda, it would have been a big seller and probably would have been announced by SF if they had it. It will remain as "wishful thinking" for now ..Im sure they have lot of other goodies, titles that die hards love and other will say, never heard of it ...still its an interesting time

We've had three lesser known titles that have never been released on DVD/ and or only with shoddy releases. They all look decent but haven't really been the show stoppers that I expected after the Universal announcements.

Here's hoping they divide up the announcements and throw a big title at us tomorrow.

The Fog, The Howling, and The Town That Dreaded Sundown are out but I would be happy with Dolls, Lifeforce, From Beyond, or a Ghoulies/ Ghoulies 2 double feature (Since the first one isn't very good).

I have a feeling it will be The Video Dead though, or another title from left field that is lesser known and never been released on DVD.

If so I think it would be safe to assume that they never got any of the bigger titles in the deal (Which would kind of make sense, if MGM released Killer Klowns on their own would they really give someone else The Fog or The Howling?). That's fine I guess, disappointing yes, but at least it would set my expectations a little lower, and make each announcement a little more exciting.

Either way I'll be grabbing everything they put out. Have to support a company like this as there aren't too many left. Even BU and Synapse has quieted down a bit the last few months.

I would want Shout! to get EFNY? Why? Because it's my favorite film of all time. Just like I'm sure Phantasm is for others. So "we" post our "wishes", for 2 reasons:
1) We really hope it happens because Shout! would probably do a phenominal job
2) It's fun to wish

That's what message boards are for: sharing information & sharing fan excitement.
