Exactly! Granted that might be the best this film is going to look, but porting over the extras and perhaps some original poster art would make this a killer release, IMO!

And as I already said it many times before, it also would be awesome if you could consider including English Hard of Hearing Subs at Shout Factory!

Please!!! That would be so nice

That would make all your releases absolutely perfect

That great to hear about the subs. Sometimes blasting the volume on my home theater isn't an option so I could really use subtitles to know what people are saying. Subs aren't just for the deaf, ya know

You can't imagine how much it made me happy to read this! I yelled alone in front of the PC
I'm all the more glad I pre-ordered everything hearing that awesome news!!!!

Cine74, I also use subs not to wake up the whole building as I watch movies very late at night.
And also as I'm french, I have some difficulties to understand everything when actors have an accent, I admit...

Very cool to see that a director commentary is being included since this isn't a Collector's Edition. I was expecting only a trailer at best. Very nice surprise!
Sounds good regarding the features. But Peter, you suck for declining.

While I don't care for English subtitles, I'm glad to see your going the extra mile in including them, Cliff.

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK has been played in HD on MGM-HD and looks MUCH better than their blu-ray release:

In my mind, that leaves a great opportunity for a better edition and I know Scream would do it justice if they were able to do it.

*shrug* I mean, really, to each their own, it still just feels to me like a genie has popped out of a bottle, and you can have anything you want, and you choose a nice haircut, a sandwich, and for it to be tomorrow. If Shout! is going to invest time and money in a quality product, they should do it for a title that hasn't already had treatment lavished on it, that a studio couldn't just rectify themselves. Knowing that MGM HD has a better transfer for EFNY only adds to the likelihood in my mind that either MGM US or some other distributor will end up doing it somewhere and that's good enough for me.

EDIT: The 'Burbs I can get behind. Maybe Shout! can find some of the movie's other, legendary alternate endings.

*ahem* Halloween II *ahem*
What treatment? It was basically a barebones rushjob!
I don't expect EFNY to ever be touched again. I wish that was not the case, but I would utterly amazed if someone(like Shout!) bothered with it.
The only reason I mentioned it, was because it was a MGM catalog title and had slight horror elements to it. Not to mention it would probably pull in some new fans?

As for The Burbs, oh yes I'd pounce on the immediately! A very entertaining dark comedy!

The Blob would be great but it will be a Twilight Time movie
The Kindred Id love but its in limbo
To Die For would be really welcome but I dont know who owns it (not the Kidman one )
but the one Id want the most is still Fright Night part II only because the DVD is of VHS full frame quality and has no extras

Why do I keep reading comments referring to The Island and Death Valley as Scream Factory releases? The press release refers to them as Shout Factory releases and I know this is subjective but I'd say they're of a lower pedigree then the other titles that are indisputably part of the label.
