Never seen Dagon, but I thought Castle Freak was excellent. Maybe a bit slow in the beginning. However, the second half was at times very dark and disturbing. Jeffrey Combs and Barbara Crampton were also brilliant as usual.

Watching it right now, and man, The Believers would make a pretty great Scream Factory blu.

However, last night when I put the disc in, it just wouldn't load. At first I thought there was something wrong with the player, but I tried different Blu-ray discs and all of them worked fine. I have never lent it to anyone and have always taken good care of it (it has been sitting on a shelf in its case all these years in the basement). There are no scratches or fingerprints on the disc. Though it is a little damp in my basement, I doubt that could result in anything bad happening to my discs, as they are all working fine.

Can somebody please tell me what the heck is going on here? Is it possible for a Blu-ray disc to just go bad by itself? I mean it consists of like five layers, no? Any comments will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Sounds like the disc has gone bad. It happens. Buy a new one, seen them for $7.99.

Now back to the Scream! Factory.

Would make a great double-feature with another MGM title, The First Power

Something didn't click with me with that dynamic duo in Castle Freak...I remember ughing my way through it

Anyone else think Slumber Party Massacre would be perfect for them to release
on blu-ray?? Along with maybe the Sleepaway Camp trilogy?

Yes, both part 1 and 2 looked good on DVD and would look fine on blu-ray also, but they said the elements where not good enough. I call BS, they can't be any worse then Dark Angel/I come in Peace which I thought looked not to good.

Almost everyone in the thread wants those two trilogies on Blu-Ray.

Unfortunately, Slumber Party Massacre has been shot down due to lack of HD materials and being too costly to have a new HD transfer created for each of the three films. Supposedly the original elements for the first film were in pretty rough shape too.

I hate the way that sounds . I'd like to think there are still lots of MGM titles to license. They have such a huge library.

I wonder if there's a chance Scream might release a Blu-ray for the film Burnt Offerings. Finally got around to watching this last night and loved it. I broke down and bought the DVD on Amazon when I noticed they didn't have a Blu-ray.

I saw that yesterday as I was about to order Halloween 2, 3, and a few older Collector's Editions.

Are people having good luck getting slipcovers with older Collector's Editions when ordering directly from Shout/Scream Factory?
