Agreed. Hellraiser 3 is trashy fun. 4 is a victim of the Hollywood machine otherwise it might have been as good as the original or the second one, but it still sucks either way. After that, they just kept getting worse and worse, with the absolute worst one being the latest.

I agree about Hellraiser.

The 1st is my favorite. I liked part 3 when I was 12 years old. After that, bombs away...

I liked the first 4 Hellraiser films but then the premise was a tired idea. Same with Friday the 13th, the first 3 I enjoy and that's it until Jason Goes to Hell and Jason vs Freddy
Come to think of it we need more franchise crossovers ( AVP was ok but I think they could've done so much more)
I wish they did that once rumored Freddy vs Jason with Michael Myers and or Ash from the Evil Dead.
Imagine Hellraiser vs Pumpkihead or something

I love Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth, its such a fun movie. But 4 was like the polar opposite. And the rest just got worse and worse.

Shame 3 isn't on blu already.

I can't say a franchise is bad when at least the first film is good.

And for the record The Howling II is not a bad movie. Its a satire.
Its meant to be over the top, ridiculous, and so "bad" its good.

No. It is not. Philippe Mora admits that he was on something when he made it; he just isn't sure what.

One of the scripts for FvJ ended with Pinhead meeting the two in Hell, so there's it.

Also, Harvey Weinstein wanted a crossover between Hellraiser and Kevin Smith's Askewniverse. I've tried to ask Smith about it twice at Q&A sessions, but he always stops when I'm next in line.

I have no idea why anyone would want, let alone think those two would or should go together.

He thought it might be the next Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein... I'd watch it for curiousity's sake. Hell, I saw the Super Groovy Cartoon Movie, and that was pretty bad.

Just watched the first 3 Children of the Corn films for the first time. Easily the worst horror films I've ever watched. Just shockingly bad!

I like Children of the Corn II the most out of the original franchise.

But the remake, which shockingly was made for tv on the Syfy channel, is outstanding.
It's a thousand times better than the original, because it actually follows the story Stephen King wrote. It's so well acted, well shot, and all around well made. Children of the Corn (2009) is by far my favorite of the entire franchise.

I still enjoy the original, mainly out of nostalgia since I grew up watching it.

I was curious about that remake, but after seeing some of The Shining remake that was made for TV, I decided not to watch it. I never finished The Shining remake because of how terrible I found it to be and I didn't like the choice of Steven Weber as John Torrance.

I'll look up the Children of the Corn remake you've mentioned and might give it a chance since you say it's more accurate to King's story.

I'm not a huge fan of the sequels for any of the above-listed franchises, so I'll go mainly by the first films.

The Howling has never quickened my pulse. It's not a bad film, but my preoccupation has always been with the better werewolf films that were released around that time, such as An American Werewolf in London and the criminally underrated Wolfen. Compared to those, The Howling has always stuck me as silly, and the final scene just makes me roll my eyes.

I agree that it's not as great as An American Werewolf in London and Wolfen is definitely underrated, but I still really enjoy the original The Howling. That final scene does kill it though. It was a cheesy and silly move to do in the first place, but at least keep the effects of the wolf faces from before. She looked like some kind of cuddly bear dog thing.

These films were a fixture in nearly every VHS rental shop throughout the 90's and yet there seems to be no fanbase whatsoever. I've never even seen an inquiry regarding their potential availability for a Blu-Ray release and I think there's 1 or 2 that never even received a DVD release.
I had no idea there were 13 of them. I must have stopped going to video stores around part 4. I've never seen any of them so I can't comment on how bad they are. For me, the worst horror franchise would have to be Leprechaun. The first one was almost impossible to sit through.

Your joking right? I thought the remake was absolute garbage. The acting was terrible and the scene where all kids stood around cheering when the 2 teens where having sex, was ****ing messed up.

The original is much better and I think its a classic. I actually like most of the COTC sequels too. Part 2, 4 & 5 being the standouts for me.

Upon the request of many other werewolf fans, I watched the often requested Ginger Snaps tonight... Why?!? I don't understand why people like this movie. The only good parts after the first 20 minutes are any scene with the drug dealer. It ran about 20 minutes too long and looked like shot on digital garbage. I may be a little nitpicky, but I just loathed it.

You're not the only one. I seriously hate that movie and I think it's overrated to be honest.

Agree with you on the COTC remake. Disagree on COTC II. That film was really lame. The 4th film (the one with Karen Black) was creepy and just a fun little horror movie. III was OK.
