Watched it for the first time must say it's complete garbage. It should never be compared to the original, most of the crappy sequels were better honestly.

Default ** Not (too) Serious :p **

Well, all week I've been disagreed with on movies, my opinions of them, etc.

Usually, most people agree with me. Or I agree with most people. So I'm astonished.
Next thing people will be liking Night Train to Terror, which I (and any normal person) despise.

But if anyone else wants to diagree with me, here's your chance, I think Fire In The Sky is the creepiest (scariest?) Movie ever made. Btw who owns that one, Paramount? Warner? Warner via Paramount?

"Fire in the Sky" is a good movie, didn't find it scary though. I tell you a film that scared me " The Haunted" with Sally Kirkland, 1990 i think.I watched on tv 10/12 years back, the missus had gone bed and i stayed up,high as a kite and at one point a ghost was talking( on a tape if i remember) and it proper creeped me out, good stuff. Never hear anyone mention that movie.

Paramount. I'm pretty sure it was part of the distribution deal, but not sure if it will be released on Blu-ray. So far they have only re-issued the DVD.

As for The Vincent Price Collection Volume 2...

Theater of Blood
Madhouse
Dr. Phibes Rises Again
Scream and Scream Again
Twice Told Tales
The House on Haunted Hill (if public domain)
The Tomb of Ligeia

Then, Volume 3 could be...

Cry of the Banshee
House of 1000 Dolls
Tales of Terror
The Oblong Box
The Last Man on Earth (if public domain)
The House of the Long Shadows
Diary of a Madman

And perhaps Volume 4...

The Raven
Tower of London
The Comedy of Terrors
An Evening of Edgar Allan Poe
The Bat (if public domain)
From a Whisper to a Scream
Master of the World

And I think that about does it.

House on Haunted Hill is public domain but WB should issue an authentic BLU transfer. they should have at the same time as House of Wax would have been perfect for them. Maybe next year.

Last Man on Earth was finally issued on DVD from MGM/FOX in probably the best non-public domain transfer out there, other DVDs looked horrid. So this title could for sure be part of a future Scream/Shout set.

I would also love a Ray Milland set, I love Premature Burial it is my favorite Would look great in HD.

I really like Fire in the Sky but have to agree that it wasn't all that scary. The one scene that got me was when the needle goes through the one guy's eye.

I ended up buying this on DVD last night through Amazon. Who knows when or if this will ever end up on Blu.

That just depends on taste. Id say yes. I rented The Nest before I bought it though.

Is anyone else underwhelmed by the 31 days of Screams ?
I guess it comes from being spoiled by Friday announcements, surprise announcements...but these sales to me arent useful if you're a day one buyer
I suppose there's only so much you can do on Facebook for fright activities, but just clarify, I love supporting them, the company is still awesome, and God bless them for all their efforts ..

(it would be nice to have an announcement by now)

I certainly am. The sales are good for those who missed some of the earlier titles but as a day one buyer from outside the US there is nothing for me at all.
BTW, does anyone remember Cliff saying they had all 48 2014 titles lined up? but now they say they can't announce what they don't have and may close a deal to announce 1 or 2 titles this month. Strange, maybe i'm remembering wrong but i'm sure they said that.

If I'm not mistaken, it was stated that they had a possible 48 titles for 2014.

If i remember correctly they said they haven't got NOTD because they already have the 48 titles lined up.Obviouly this was a mis-direction as we now know, but i'm positive it was stated elsewhere too, though i may be wrong,no big deal anyway i'm just hungry for announcements.

The Burning - Yes. If you enjoy gory slashers, this is a no brainer. One of the best.

From Beyond - Probably. If you enjoy Re-Animator or over the top Empire/Full Moon titles, you will probably enjoy this.

Prison - Probably. If you enjoy supernatural slashers ala Nightmare on Elm Street, you will probably enjoy this.

Terror Train - Maybe. If you enjoy the earliest 80's (1980-81) slashers, it's at least worth a look. If you're looking for gore, look elsewhere.

Yeah, absolutely, I think that's what most Price fans would want (and judging from past DVD releases, I'd gather that's what would sell).

Personally I don't like the Phibes sequel much at all (it's not nearly as fun as the original), but for completion's sake it'd be wise to include. The other Poe titles, especially THE RAVEN, would be the obvious direction to go in, and then maybe THEATER OF BLOOD seeing as it was one of his favorite films.

I really hope this set does well...or else we may not see them

If you really see yourself as having some kind of unique connection with popular opinion able to be an arbiter of "good movie" information I would discourage that, as you've seen taste is so subjective and even more so for cult cinema. It may be everyone dislikes Children of the Corn but you for some reason love it, that's sort of what makes a cult film (a film whose fans are a minority but feverish about it).

It's really not important that people agree on favoritism for a movie, but that they can discuss the technical and artistic merits (such as they are).

I agree, Scream Factory has been ridiculously quite. If we were playing cards, it's be really easy to call their "so many titles coming in 2014" bluff. The sales are great though.

When I heard Scream was to release 48 titles, my gut told me that a good third of those would be double features of older catalog titles that they have been sitting on. Nothing wrong with that. I suspect that Scream is building up to several substantial announcements toward the end of the month.
