I'd temper your suspicions a bit. They announced on Facebook at the beginning of the month that they'd only have one announcement this month, maybe two.

We have some great stuff in store for you today (and all this month) so keep checking back here throughout the day for more details. For now, we'll leave you with an appetizer of some of the things you can expect to see this month.

- One (or possibly two) new blu-ray titles announcements for 2014.

- Sneak peek at the bonus extras for John Carpenter's BODY BAGS (out 11/12).

- A list of final extras for SATURN 3 (12/3), THE BEAST WITHIN (12/17), CRAWLSPACE (12/17) and CAT PEOPLE (1/21).

If its only one announcement they'll most likely save it for Halloween...
One BIG announcement maybe(with more than 1 title)
Who knows ?
I think it would be a fun to have an "Ask Jeff and Cliff day " about their titles during this month. They could spend a day answering questions from fans if they aren't too busy with releases.

(and when I mean questions I don't mean the same old Where is Fright Night II or Why not the INTL version of Swamp Thing ...maybe questions about how it was to interview and meet Jamie Lee Curtis, a compressive list titles they would love to release , titles they dislike but released them anyway for fans that do etc)

I think that another deal with Fox is a MUST! I mean, Scream could get some great titles from them...
-The Fly II
-Frankenstein Unbound (Damn you Anchor Bay!!!)
-Return of the Fly/Curse of the Fly double feature
-Phantom of the Paradise
-Shock Treatment
And that's just for starters...

(Also, I think that the guys over at Shout are pretty big Jessica Harper fans, with Suspiria and Phantom being on their wish lists).

I'm passed the fantasizing phase when it comes to announcements. If it's an 80's horror film they're announcing I'll likely blind-buy it. Anything non-horror (seems to be the case more and more) I'll research it and go from there. No more wishing and hoping and getting the air popped out of the balloon with a meh announcement.

Feel the same too.Don't get me wrong scream is great but theres been too many non-horror and meh releases.I've said it before but i reckon its the moneymen making them put the titles in there because screams done well still, theres some great titles to look forward too.

Dear Scream Factory,

Announcing releases on a routine basis like Criterion Collection, which makes announcements 3 months in advance on the 15th of each month, would be a classy move appreciated by me.

Cool idea. I would be all for that... But I do like the mass of titles, mediocre or not, given at cons. It is because of their Comic Con announcements that I am now reading Cabal.

Yes... Or any one of them. I still hope, however unrealistically, that Criterion will put out the first film in all of its moody, atmospheric glory.

I believe Warner just recently released this year, a reissue DVD of Fire in the Sky since it was OOP. So, the future doesn't look good for this one on blu-ray unless someone like Scream picks it up.

Yep.

Also, they have Hammer's Frankenstein and The Monster from Hell... They need to release a series of double features of franchises:
Ninth Configuration / Exorcist III
Dracula AD 1972 / Satanic Rites of Dracula
Dracula Has Risen from the Grave / Taste the Blood of Dracula
Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed / Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell
Cat's Eye / Tales from the Darkside: The Movie
It Lives Again / It's Alive III: Island of the Alive

I took a chance and bought them all Im a huge 80's horror fan anyways

Cmac used to do that, but then--this being Blu-ray.com--got too upset about fans saying "That cover stinks!" (which they usually did), or "When are you going to release (impossible and/or TV title, usually Psycho IV)?" and seems like they've more and more left us to our own devices on the thread.
Haven't checked in for a while, though, so I'd be happy to be proven otherwise.

Continuing the rare-cult thread, how about Embryo (1976), with Rock Hudson, and, more to the point, Barbara Carrera ?
Not so much a "horror" as mid-70's sci-fi--But reason for asking was that I found it the other night while wandering through Amazon Prime's VHS-backroom of cheap weaselly public-domain streams (while looking for "Damnation Alley", which I also found in cheap-weaselly-PD form), and wondered why this movie seems to have completely dropped off of studio radar (rights problems?)
Every time I try looking for a rental, all I find are cheap, dingy square PD-VHS updumps from fly-by-night PD-parasite labels....Is it that hard to salvage?
