i hope not. Next Halloween is too far away. When the Sun is in the Sign of Pisces would be a good time to unleash The Fog blu ray on the world

I have high hopes that "The Fog" will be coming in the future from them but I'm sure it's just something they can't come out and announce at this time. Plus, they'll be announcing new titles that weekend at their panel discussion. That would be a splendid time to lay the news out for all us horror fans
If it's any consolation, that's pretty much what they said about HALLOWEEN III too.

OT:

Cliff, kudos to you and Shout Factory for bringing on Blu yet another underrated gem The Seven-Per-Cent Solution.

Now,here's a question about Universal non-horror deal. It's obvious (more or less) that your company is strictly obliged to put out on Blu titles that were previously released as a part of Universal Vault Series only (The Seven-Per-Cent Solution,Sometimes a Great Notion,Portrait of a Lady).Am i wrong about this?

Btw,are any of the following Universal Vault Series titles on SF's horizon?Thx.

Blue Collar (1978 – Dir: Paul Schrader, with Richard Pryor & Harvey Keitel)
Gambit (1966 – Dir: Ronald Neame, with Michael Caine & Shirley MacLaine
The Brink’s Job (1978 – Dir: William Friedkin, with Peter Falk)
The List Of Adrian Messenger (1963 – Dir: John Huston, with George C. Scott)
Resurrection (1980 – Dir: Daniel Petrie, with Ellen Burstyn)
The Secret War Of Harry Frigg (1968 – Dir: Jack Smight, with Paul Newman)
Ulzana’s Raid (1972 – Dir: Robert Aldrich, with Burt Lancaster)
Tarantula (1955 – Dir: Jack Arnold, with John Agar)
Tobruk (1967 - Rock Hudson, George Peppard and Nigel Green)
The House of the Seven Gables

and A Bronx Tale

Cheers!

I did have to laugh when I saw the facebook comment. I thought, well, if you couldn't get the rights to it, why not just say so or ignore the question like usual (which is honestly the best way they could handle questions about movies they're releasing, but don't want to announce yet). Why say, "We have not announced that we are doing The Fog at this time." It does kinda make ya think they will be releasing it next year but don
t want to make the announcement, yet.

The reason i think Scream Factory has not and does not want to announce big name titles yet is because they would have to answer a million god dam questions on extras, commentaries, cover art, subtitles, region locked, you get the point. When they still want to focus on the movies they are working on at the moment.

I'm assuming, they will be at that convention with the cast reunion of THE FOG to film it to be an extra on the bluray.

I just have to say that I'm not buying the answer. We already know they have a deal with MGM and the fact that coincidentally they just point out the cast reunion thing is fishy... They should make the best of it and record an interview with JLC for The Fog and Prom Night (I know Echo Bridge has the rights...but if for some reason they get PN someday...). I really see The Fog coming down the line.

That and I'm sure they don't want to announce all their current upcoming titles for the next year all at once.

It would be nice if Jamie Lee Curtis would participate in a commentary track or at least give a video interview for it. Imagine how cool the cast commentary track would be if all those attending, participated: Jamie Lee, Tom Atkins, Adrienne Barbeau, Charles Cyphers.

Shoot, JLC and Timothy Webber are both there. Them doing a Terror Train commentary would have been nice. The convention should of happened a couple months ago. We might have gotten even more extras.

Well, in their defense they were making mention of them being at the con and then noted the only real highlight (currently on the HorrorHound Weekend website) listed, the Fog reunion.

Here's how it reads:

Our first ever convention panel includes the following participants:
Producer / Acquisitions Manager Cliff MacMillan, Marketing Director Jeff Nelson and DVD extras Producer Michael Felsher from Red Shirt Pictures. We can't wait to mix and mingle with you guys and we'll have some awesome upcoming titles to announce there first too!
The comment "We have not announced that we are doing The Fog at this time. Sorry". is what screamed yes we are releasing it, but I cannot confirm it yet.

That's what I'm saying... they should make the most of it. JLC is there and she CAN'T ESCAPE!!! I'm pretty sure getting Adrienne and the others is no problem...it's JLC that is the issue. So an interview for The Fog or Prom Night or just her horror films would be nice.
I completely agree with you, the convention should have been earlier. I mean JLC and Timothy Webber...sigh.

Yeah, you're right... it was more of that second comment that sealed the deal. :

Review for The Funhouse!:

http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/56987/funhouse-the/

I'm surprised The Funhouse got 5.1.

Speaking of, Cliff, will the DVD versions of selected upcoming releases (The Funhouse) also feature 5.1?

I think the Fog will be announced at that convention, along with other stuff as they mentioned in their promo. Maybe another biggie like The Howling
Im also reading into the "not yet" part of the Fog. I cant imagine it not getting a Blu treatment.
I still think we will get Dolls, Psycho Sequels, more Phantasm, and a lot of 'only a VHS release' movie like Cellar Dweller. A lot of ying yang !
Im actually tempted to check out Curse III (Panga) as I think that might be a possibility as well.
Is it Friday yet ?

Ooooh, ROAD GAMES! I forgot about that one. Very underated film. I'd buy it.

I am disappointed that TT are releasing Christine!
It should have been Shout Factory that released it, at least it would have come with some extras.

I would also like to see them release Kable Kut of Nightbreed!

IIRC, it's been said that Echo Bridge has the rights to Curtains.
