I agree as well. Easy pass on Sleepaway Camp. I'd like to see more horror films in the caliber of The Howling, The Fog, ect.

No doubt, guess I'm one of those guys that prefer my horror to be horror. Always preferred evil dead over evil dead 2 with that said atleast evil dead 2 is a enjoyable film. Sleepaway camp does have it's fanbase and I'm happy for them and it definitely fits with scream factory just not my cup of tea.

There aren't too many of that caliber left out there though! Except for the titles held by Warner which we aren't going to be seeing Scream releasing anytime soon.

Warner has a fair share, but Lionsgate is the real vault as far as I'm concerned. They've got a massive backlog of 80's/early 90's horror that hasn't even begun to be scratched.

Yes Lionsgate is the other main player holding on to some big titles...but that is the problem they are holding on to them and not releasing them either
Least they decided to put The Wicker Man out in Jan.

At least all of the people out there disappointed by Sleepaway Camp have Suspiria coming from Synapse to look forward to.

Gotta say I'm excited for Sleepaway Camp. I've never seen Sleepaway Camp, but it's a title i've wanted to watch for ages. I've just been waiting for the right time. This announcement is perfect for me!

That was the poster I was interested in getting. I was actually still asleep when everything went up for sale, so due to that, it was a given that I would miss out on the posters (I think it was two minutes later that they were gone). They still had plenty of vinyl left, though, and while I would have liked a poster, the LP was what I was wanting the most. I'm not expecting an orange vinyl, but I'll certainly take what I can get.

Also, I do find the name thing rather interesting, since (numbers excluded) it's just made up of my initials and 2/3s of my last name...

It's lurid and enjoyable but I've never seen it as a top tier slasher, maybe that's just personal preference. Too bad there won't be another Sleepaway Camp box set, selling all the movies together makes more sense to me with a film like this, hopefully those won't be abandoned.
I would venture to say it's just personal preference. Regardless of your opinion of the film (I enjoy it, and am excited that Scream's releasing it, but let's just say that for me, Synapse managed to outdo Scream with their announcement), it is a popular title, not to mention one that was heavily requested.

I've only seen the first one. Are the other ones really even worth watching?

Depends on who you ask. Main consensus is that 2 is better, though.
