I am not a huge fan of the first Sleepaway Camp movie but 2 and 3 are a lot of fun, more comedy than horror thats for sure but heck the word "Camp" is in the title

Best day for announcements in a long time, two of my long list of favourites coming to Blu-ray.

Just putting this in here since it's been many months since I last brought it up.

Scream Factory... If you can, please try to get the rights to Sleepaway Camp 2. I just prefer it to the 1st.

Aside from being slashers, 2 and 3 are very different films from the original. They more or less drop all of the
[Show spoiler]sexual ambiguity and confusion
and add healthy doses of comedy that was mostly absent from the original.

Great news about Sleepaway Camp! Can't wait to watch this in HD and check out the extras Scream puts together.

As far as Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 are concerned, I'd love to see them paired up with Cheerleader Camp in sort of a camp themed trilogy on blu ray. All three of those movies came out around the same time and are similar in content and tone. Just a suggestion.

A Sleepaway Camp 2&3 double feature, and a double of Cheerleader Camp & Camp Fear.

My October will come to a nice end in about 25 minutes. A double feature of Halloween and the Scream Factory edition of Halloween II.

Go for Part 2. The Thing is a January movie.

Haven't seen Camp Fear, but I just watched the trailer and it looked awful. Doesn't really look like anything that would interest me or Scream Factory. Although I could be wrong.

However, I am still very much in favor of a Sleepaway Camp 2 & 3 and Cheerleader Camp trilogy.

Cheerleader Camp is now with Code Red, so they can't release that.

Anyway, yeah I'm stoked for Sleepaway Camp.
I'm really excited, and couldn't be happier that I'm wrong.

Now as for the (imo, better) Sleepaway Camp Sequels:

Michael A. Simpson, Double Helix Films, seems to own the rights.

They are worth it in every way. Please don't pull a Poltergiest 3, or Psycho 4... Lol.

Well, Code Red is starting to do Blu-Rays now, so perhaps there is hope for Cheerleader Camp.

While I'm not a fan of the Sleepaway Camp sequels (especially Return To Sleepaway Camp), I do hope they get released eventually for those that do enjoy them.

I'm a completist so I'd like them all.

But I LOVE LOVE LOVE Sleepaway Camp II and III.

Return is with Magnet. They'll likely release one around the time of the Scream release.

Camp Fear and Cheerleader Camp both star Betsy Russel. Also, Camp Fear was originally intended to be a sequel to Cheerleader Camp. Ah. The wonders of Good Bad Flicks.

Part 3 has missing gore that would definitely benefit from being restored in HD.
The film itself would be better with the gore back in it too. Even the suppossed "Uncut" releases of all three films are still cut, just less so than others.
