I was being more meh about my scathing hatred for Ginger Snaps. I hope that Dog Soldiers is good.

Also, according to IMDb, Ginger Snaps' last U.S. DVD was 20th Century Fox.

I've been wanting to see Dog Soldiers for awhile now, so thats a nice announcement. Not to interested in Ginger Snaps.

I thought the announcement was for a Slasher film though?

"Dog Soldiers" is awesome. I hate most modern horror movies (post-2000) but this film is, dare I say it, among the best werewolf films ever made. I'm surprised some people are lukewarm to the announcement. I hope SF has access to better source materials since the current BD looks like crap. I like Ginger Snaps as well. I thought the film was something of a cult favorite? Curious to know why people dislike it.

Yep. Regardless of The Wolf Man (and marginally decent films like American Werewolf and The Howling), I'll go on record to say it's the only werewolf movie I've ever seen that's done it right.

Both are decent movies, but again, where are the sequels to Ginger Snaps? I already have the sweet Canadian trilogy stacked with extras, it would have been nice be able to replace it. Too many unfinished series on Blu, with Scream leading the charge! In the past month alone they have announced Slumber Party Massacre, Sleepaway Camp, and now this, all films that have sweet DVD trilogy sets out.

Ginger Snaps is a film that I didn't really like when I first saw it but it has grown on me. Part 2 isn't very good though, but I enjoyed Part 3. Dog Soldiers I remember enjoying quite a bit, but I haven't watched it in years. I do remember a lot of yelling over each other and gung-ho soldiers, which was a bit annoying, but the werewolves looked great and their is some decent set pieces. Either way it's a Neil Marshall film and it needs a better Blu so I'm happy with it coming from Scream. Hopefully they don't just throw the same transfer on the disc, add new extras, and call it a day though.

Having never seen the films for today's announcements, I'm really excited to add them to my Scream collection. It's always nice for unexpected surprises like these

Hopefully Dog Soldiers will have the extras from the UK release. There's a particularly great commentary involving the cast which probably won't be bettered.

No to mention "Witchboard 3" and "Night of the Demons 3". I know "Witchboard 2: The Devil's Doorway" and "Night of the Demons 2" are both on Blu-ray (Thank God) from Olive Films. But I'm a completest, so I would like the final films for both movies. Don't get me started on the "Phantasm" shenanigans. Lol. But something is better than nothing, I suppose. I am thankful

Thankfully it wasn't. I love werewolf films and Dog Soldiers is easily one of the better ones. Ginger Snaps I don't remember liking all that much though.

Olive will put those out.
Phantasm is just a matter of getting 1,3,4 from Anchor Bay/Don Coscarelli.
Ginger Snaps 2-3 are Lionsgate and always have been. No dice.

I wouldn't be surprised if Seville Pictures released the trilogy on Blu here in Canada, although it hasn't happened yet so who knows. I wonder if this will be a case like the Scanners double feature where this won't be released in Canada as Seville owns the rights here?

Fantastic news!

It's been awhile since I've seen Ginger Snaps, but I seem to recall liking it - but then I'm kind of a werewolf fan, so it's a bit of a gimmie. Dog Soldiers, however - definite day one for me. It's got to be better than my DVD, though I only hope that Scream can add English subtitles. It's kinda strange, but some of the accents were so thick it was a little hard to understand sometimes.
