When is toxic avenger coming?

maybe Vinegar Syndrome got the rights to some of them, they currently have a deal with Troma, but were denied access to a lot of the big classics and there are other stipulations to their deal and what movies they have access to as well.
Well, Troma only put out three of their own "big" films: Poultreygeist, Tromeo and Juliet (rerelease it with a banner that says "From the Mind of the Director of Guardians of the Galaxy"), and Nuke Em High 1. What are they waiting for? Remakes of everything?

Not sure. I thought there was already an extras-packed release? Maybe it was DVD only

EDIT: I think Arrow released a Blu-ray last year.

I think that all 4 are tied up with remake rights at the moment. Sort of how like Mother's Day only got released because of the remake.

Will you be getting Night of the Comet?
It's there. Behind Lifeforce. Before Prison.

I don't think Troma has the rights to Splatter University anymore. http://horrordigital.com/vb3forum/sh...ter+university

I like Splatter University, but I couldn't call it "iconic" or "a slasher classic," with a straight face. I freely admit it has one of the greatest titles ever applied to a slasher movie, but it might be one of the worst produced slashers I've ever seen that wasn't direct to video.

I still remember buying a copy of this and The Forest at a used VHS distributor when I was a teenager in the late 90's. Splatter University had the awesome title and The Forest had amazing VHS cover art. I had low expectations, but the films were HORRIBLE. I think that might have been my first experience with microbudgeted 80's horror. Splatter University was at least entertaining, in a way, and I've warmed up to it a little over the years. On the other hand, I don't think I ever gave The Forest a second chance.

not sure who is over at IMDB from here but thought some of you would be interested in knowing that the producer of Silent Night, Deadly Night was on a thread there stating how the movie has now been remastered in HD for it's theatrical run this December in partnership with Fangoria.

I inquired about the footage from a lesser source for all the VHS and DVD releases and he did say that the version shown in theaters will be the R rated theatrical cut although they are working on a Blu-Ray with all new features. I know that Anchor Bay has the rights for the DVD but man would I L-O-V-E if Scream Factory got their hands on this title and gave it the love it needs. I cannot imagine with its notoriety and the fact that it's a "holiday" themed movie that it wouldn't be a great seller for them. All I ask is that even if the footage that was only available on VHS and DVD and of a lesser quality be implemented into the HD version. Without those scenes the movie loses most of what makes it so awesome.

Very nice. So we can expect a Blu-ray release of this movie sometime next year?

I would guess around Christmas time next year to capitalize on the holiday. I just wonder if Anchor Bay will release it or if the producers are looking to find a distribution deal. Scream Factory would be perfect for a title like this.

Watch. There will be a double feature BD next year. Just in time for the release of Silent Night 2 (which is definitely going to happen; proof? I Spit on Your Grave 2).

2014 is the 30th anniversary, so if we were going to get a Blu-Ray, next year would be the year.

Fangoria's press release indicated it would be fully uncut, so color me confused.

FANGORIA, together with Screenvision and Brainstorm Media, are thrilled to announce the re-release of the controversial, ultra-bloody anti-Holiday slasher favorite SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT, opening wide across the country in theaters everywhere!

Released in 1984 to outrage and parental paranoia, director Charles Sellier’s killer Kris Kringle creeper tells the tale of a tot who, on Christmas Eve 1974, sees mommy kissing Santa’s axe as a lunatic invades their home and murders his family. Growing up in an abusive Catholic orphanage, the poor put-upon lad grows up to be a similar psycho in a Santa suit and goes on a bloody rampage. The film will be fully uncut and re-mastered, better to see every inch of those deer antlers penetrate poor Linnea Quigley’s breastplate.

SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT will open on December 4th running to December 17th across the country, a presentation of FANGORIA Films and Brainstorm Media.

Check out the new trailer and the new theatrical one sheet from artist Marc Schoenbach at Sadist Art, as well as the original 1984 release trailer.

Keep your bleary eyes focused on Fangoria.com and FANGORIAONSCREEN.COM for more updates on this triumphant return of a bona fide trash classic to the big screen.
